| The rfl are unique in sport in that only they can delay sorting the fixtures. Lets say there is a new team being brought in it totally contradicts what they recently said. There are no excuses in my view for the delay as the fixture dates were known.

| Based on what is on teletext the rfl are consulting with all championship 1 clubs as to whether they agree to a welsh club in next season. The fact the club will play at brewery field the same ground where the crusaders are leaving partly due to lack of interest. Am I missing something but what the hell are the rfl doing why would the welsh folk suddenly accept the new lot. perhaps this team would be a feeder team for the crusaders. the rfl have again suprised me.

I get the impression from other threads that the lack of interest was down to the owner not being liked locally because of other failed sports teams in Bridgend.
By all accounts he's not associated with this new outfit.
As most people know, South Wales is a hotbed of Union talent but only has 4 professional teams so there's a real opportunity to tap in to this talent with another Welsh club.
So long as they slowly develop a fan base and youth system and not aim for Super League in the first 5 years like the Crusaders did there's a realistic chance of it working down there.

| Yeah, I wish the RFL would stop trying to FORCE the game to expand, and instead just let it grow naturally, at it's own pace in new areas.
Or is SL the only division that counts? (I think we know the RFL's answer to that! )

The situation with the Crusaders was partly to do with the apathy of the public due to involvement of Leighton Samuels, however as the Crusaders are mioving to god knows where it changes weekly, at this they will be ground sharing with us.
I fail to see how or why this would be considered by the rfl at this late stage.
In addition to this please see this link. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_l ... 390966.stm
As you will see it says this is a new geographical area for championship 1. No it is not because Celtic Crusaders played from there when they started out in what is now known as Championship 1, yet again the rfl are trying to fool folk into selling the idea that in my view should be declined.

| After reading the piece in the rugby mag today it appears the idea of the new team playing out of Bridgend is to be made up of locals etc that are not yet good enought to play at a higher levelt who then hopefully get chance to play for Crusaders.
Am I missing something I assumed the Crusaders have a reserve team, this smacks of a feeder club being set up through the backdoor.
The rfl have told the championship 1 clubs there will be no additional costs involved, does that mean the travelling team will have fuel, accomodation etc paid for. If so by who, assuming its the rfl as they are so desperate to save face by having any team from Bridgend playing.
What about the fans that travel will they be compensated too or again do they not matter.
Expansion just for expansion sake is not acceptable to me.

Having said that, Bridgend was a good weekend away.
I seem to remember you flashing your stockings in the nightclub
