Its difficult for british/european fighters to keep up with the americans as there brought up wrestling from a young age through school and college...we'l be behind for years,the only ones from over here who will develop a good wrestling base are the young kids who will train mma early years an not just striking like the majority that are knocking about at the moment.

Hathaway has a decent ground game an also terry etim has some excellent jiu jitsu.

For me its the most boring discipline in mma but without a doubt the best base to be successful.

He has always irritated me. This said, he is a solid fighter. Should do well against the lesser competition. However that is a tough first fight to be taking. I would expect Mousasi to win against Jardine,

Yeah i agree with all of that....hes a very one dimensional fighter who took a couple of big names out and lives off that...i cant see him winning neither.

Did anyone see the Hominick fight last week? What an effort, although I'm surprised the doctor let him carry on. If he'd won at the end it would have been an incredible turn around.

Karl Etherington ? I heard they found him a fight at short notice but it was a mismatch and he won easily enough. The whole event got a bit of a pasting on Cagewarriors forum from what I could read. Saying it was a shambles all round.

Yes Karl. Had never played rugby in his life and just tore it up in the NWC, but he was always a loose cannon and was always fighting. The UCC advertised Bob Sapp before as fighting but he never did, was just a ploy to get bums on seats.

Thought as much, Sapp was at the MMA Expo in Birmingham the next day apparently, so got into the country fine. Will be avoiding these UCC events if they ever get to put on another card.

I agree with that, the UFC are always happy to take Brits too. Admittedly I havent seen any of his fights, whats his style like? Not another Brit who'll get wrestlef*cked is he and thats no disrespect to the current British lot. A win against Ninja is certainly good even if he is a bit jaded these days.

Dont know much about him myself but what i have seen he looks to stand up mostly and seems to be more of a kickboxing style......so yeah probably will get taken down like the rest!

He's pretty well rounded. He showed some tremendous takedown defence last night which helps as he's maybe not the best in the submissions department.

He could do pretty well in the UFC Middleweight division I reckon as there aren't THAT many excellent wrestlers in that division anyway.
