Bit of a step up for it though, I had my eye on overturn for the Ebor, who has exposure in some class 1's. Then again, Meehan's stable is in good form, but dangerous midge is top weight in the race.

| Agree about Samuel looks the bet of the day to me at around 8/1!
Was travelling like a dream last time after a long lay off and just ran out of gas close home. A look at the horses profile suggests it runs better and improves for a run so should improve quite a bit from last time. Jockey bookings may suggest King Of Wands is first choice with Buick up, but Eddie Ahern has ridden Samuel nearly every run it's had when it was with John Dunlop so that's fine with me.
I like Temple Meads in the Gimcrack but not happy with Jimmy Fortune taking over from Richie Mullen! Won nicely twice though and looks like it will relish the extra furlong and connections rate this very highly after hearing them speak after it won at Newbury.
In a wide open Ebor I've plumped for an e/w bet on Demolition you can never rule out Richard Fahey at York and just sneaking in at the bottom comes here after a couple of fine placed efforts on what could have been livelier ground than it likes? May prefer an easier surface and can see it turning the tables on Dangerous Midge with ground difference and a big difference in weight, could easily make a good case for well over half of the field but will go with this one!

Share the same sentiments about Fortune after the Bated Breath ride on Saturday.
Slightly on the slide, but just lumped on at 3's, conditions look perfect.
Need to get back on the bike after Twice Over got nabbed on the line yesterday.

| I backed Temple Meads last time so was looking forward to it running again today, although the negative comments on here may mean I reduce my stake. Face The Problem in the 4:15 looks the banker of the day, but is plenty short enough at 6/4.
One bet from the other racing, Hambleton 4:15 Hamilton around 6/4

| Had a fairly solid tip for Rascal in the mix in the 3.15 at Carlisle.
Mate of mine knows the trainer who says it should go very well. Been backed in from 14s to 8s this morning and the support continues to come in. The trainer has had a couple of nice winners in recent weeks including the 66/1 Rios Girl at Mussleborough and 10/1 Tabaret at York.

| Done out of a winning chance by poor judgement from a jockey again!
Still got the place, but Spencer was going better than anything a couple out and came from stone last and at the crucial time found all sorts of trouble and had to badly snatch up ruining all chance of winning.
Times Up certainly one to keep an eye on next time...

| Yep, thought we'd worked out the race perfectly.
Opinion Poll wasn't supposed to go on the ground.
Still that's 2 placed in me e/w lucky 15 so far...

| Good call on Approve Wire!!
If Demolition sneaks a place in the Ebor Temple Meads failing to finish in the top three will have cost me around £120.
I know the horse blatantly didn't stay the 6f, but I thought Fortune didn't do enough to keep hold of 3rd place...I may just be being harsh but that's the way I saw it in real time.

I know it probably doesn't stay 6f and I'm not saying it would have won but it seemed to take 2f to settle to me. Whether that's the jockey's fault or that the horse was too eager I'm not sure but I wasn't too impressed with the ride myself.

| Strange aswell how the last 2 times under Richie Mullen the horse has been switched off out the back and came through strongly to win. Fortune gets up and it's pulling hard, not settling and ends up making the running??
Still think it's a damn good 5f horse though and will just add Fortune to Richard Hills on my banned list.
Shame that aswell because Hills is on an absolute monster tomorrow aswell and I would be having probably my biggest single bet for a long time but for him riding it....

I remember reading a tale, some idiot lost 9k on Betfair laying something at absolutely massive odds, only to see it win.

Excellent stuff... despite the world almost knowing and getting nowhere near the price you expected, the horse won easily. Good info.
Thanks a lot.

| Whats the word for Ransom Note tomorrow... know somebody fancied it at Goodwood despite its bad draw so surely tomorrow is time to get the money back ?
Looking at the rest of the York card, looking forward to seeing Maqaasid in the 2:15 continue her unbeaten run. Cracking race in the Oaks with Midday & Sariska clashing but I have a feeling Snow Fairy could upset her elders and take it. And in the last I fancy Fallon to bring home the bacon wuth Hoof It.

| It was me mate who talked Ransom Note up as I was told that the stable hold the horse in very high regard and even consider it a potential group horse, I'll probably have a few quid on again tomorrow but the 'Hills' factor will again be the thing holding me back. Michael is nowhere near as bad as his brother IMO, but for me they're both poor in a finish and not the type of jockey to throw the kitchen sink at a horse to get it home a la Moore, Fallon, Hanagan etc...
I like the look of Galtymore Lad in the opener, has solid looking form in the book at 6f and looks a very genuine tryer, especially last time when giving everything in chasing home a potentially smart horse. Ladbrokes price at the moment of 16/1 looks extremely generous to me!
Maqaasid is just different gravy! I was told before it won the Queen Mary that it was an absolute monster of a horse and one of the best Gosden has had. Richard Hills being up will prevent me backing but I wouldn't be putting anyine off backing, a definite watch and admire race for me!
The other of huge interest to me is Raiph Beckett's Ceilidh House in the 4.05. This filly was hugely impressive on debut and am sure at one point or other was not far off ante-post favourite for the oaks? Was starting to look like another Look Here from the same connections but had problems. From The Oaks to this level is a huge drop in class and 12/1 looks a fair e/w price to me if she's shaken off her problems...

| Can't see past Sariska, but would fear Snow Fairy. If she runs like her past two races, then her turn of foot will blitz it. Midday is no slouch either though. I backed her to win it last year which hurt my pocket. Now we know this is her ground, not fast ground.
I agree Maqaasid will take a lot of beating, but I never have any luck with the Hills team so....

| Couple of interesting movers in the market so far this morning..
Fahey's Wootton Bassett in the opener has been steadily shortening at every bookies this morning and at the current price in such a large and competitive field must take a lot of money to do so. This could be one of those that is just in a different league and could win this easily?
The other I've seen come in for good money is one that I mentioned last noght! Ceilidh House was widely available at 12's last night but is now a best priced 8/1 and as low as 6/1 at a few. Maybe a good sign that she's over her problems and ready to run a big race in a grade that's beneath her class?
