Robert Elstone has given notice of his intention to leave his role as executive chairman to the board of Super League Europe Limited.
His decision to step down comes just 44 days before the start of the new 2021 season, and two-and-a-half years after his appointment in June 2018.
Elstone, 57, came back to rugby league from Premier League side Everton where he was chief executive.
He had previously worked at the Rugby Football League - the game's governing body.

There was lots of promise with his appointment given his previous roles, albeit outside of rugby.
What are his biggest achievements?

Came in with all sorts of promises and I genuinely believed he would force a change for the better. Instead we’ve had a farcical ‘break away’ which amounted to a 7yr old tantrum and scraping through a no confidence vote. Rubbish like this makes a mockery of RL once again

Many will say its Hetherington, or is that Super League?
Not to de-rail the thread but I have never seen any substantial evidence that Hetherington has influenced things in his favour. |

Must have been a big disapointment for him to leave a top job with a top Premiership Football Club and come to a game which is fighting a uphill battle to be the same as it use to be and not even playing in the present Covid-19 situation like Football and Rugby Union are at both Domsestic and International level.
