The ex-Wigan winger has been in custody for six months as he faces 13 offences including aggravated possession of ice, supplying ice, producing marijuana, possessing ketamine as well as weapons charges.
If convicted, he could be jailed for up to 25 years, reports the Courier Mail.
He is due to make an application for bail at Queensland's Mackay Magistrates Court next Friday.
Problems with a videolink prevented him making the application as scheduled today.
Dallas became a huge fans' favourite during seven seasons with Wigan, during which he won the 2002 Challenge Cup.
The former Queensland and Australia star hung up his boots in 2006 and, in recent times, his life has taken a downward spiral.
A year ago, he pleaded guilty to three charges including the theft of a coffee table, worth around £360, from a furniture franchise in November 2019, reported the Daily Mercury.
Magistrate Damien Dwyer said at the time in less than 12 months."
Dallas' solicitor, Rosie Varley, told the court then that the dad-of-three had been receiving disability pension for the last 12 months.

Knew he had been in trouble for some time, but didnt realise the offences were this bad.
Terrible.
If I remember rightly, didnt he claim mental health issues when in court a few years back when he was living on the streets and stealing?
Its very sad, however if he is pushing the things about as it says, there are plenty of people (quiet rightly) who would forget the nostalgia very quickly.
What a mess. Feel for his family as it doesn't look like he will be coming back from this one for a long time.

| Always seemed a quiet lad so it’s surprising. He was an incredible player for us and the fans will never forget him placing his boots in the centre of the pitch after his last game. We can only hope whatever happens regards prison, that he can get his head sorted and get his life back on track.

You can see from his twitter that he clearly has some sort of mental health issue. I'm sure drugs won't be helping either. Hope he gets the help he needs.

Persistent headaches could lead to an addiction to painkillers and that in turn could lead to worse.
Of course he's made some bad choices and I'm not looking to defend him here, but I also wouldn't be surprised given everything that is coming out about head issues if that wasn't the start of a very bad journey for him.
It's not like he was known for it while he was over here like other players may have been.

You could be right but you’re clutching at straws imo and it would be a pretty naff excuse, there is also a big difference between players enjoying stuff on a weekend to becoming an addict to a really heavy drug and having their life ruined. Either way it’s horrible and a massive shame, by all accounts he was a model professional over here and kept his nose clean, was a great player too, I remember the first season at the JJB and it seemed like every week he would either make/score a long range break/try. Hard to have too much sympathy though.

That's not a good read
He was a great RL player but his life has been on a downward spiral for many years.
For those defending his multiple indiscretions I would ask the question of what you would do as a parent if he was supplying drugs to your son or daughter?

Not sure anyone has defended him. I'm certainly not. I'm trying to find out why a model pro turns into this. If it was a player known to be a d!ckhead you would understand.

OMG head shots are now the excuse for all of the wrong personal life choices made by an ex player that choose to supply and sell drugs?
Dallas sadly has history since his retirement from the game that indicate that his mental health wasn't in a very good state and made plenty of bad choices?
Perhaps Gareth Ellis and JP could get away with robbing a bank and selling drugs ?
They both had plenty of head knocks too?

Are they obsessively posting for hours about government mind control? That's where Brett Dallas appears to be in his life. Regardless of the cause, it's pretty obvious he's far from well.

Very quiet lad. He lived next door but 2 to me and it was 12 months before I knew. It was only when I saw Brian Carney outside his house that I noticed. Probably says more about me than him though.

| If you have followed Brett's story for a few years now you see just how disturbed he is. When he was caught shoplifting underpants we all said what a shame and then forgot about it. Once upon a time we just talked about self destructive personalities but now we are starting to see how some of our heroes are becoming casualties of the game. No I am not excusing otherwise we would have to do the same for everyone who goes off the rails but now we know that making simple binary judgements often puts us wide of the mark. I cannot stand the influence of drugs in society but there is a lot more going on in Brett's head than a bad lad making poor choices.

Whoa... back off... Wind your chin in.
I never suggested that head shots were the cause of his behaviour, i merely suggested that there might be a link. And if you read my post you will see that i clarify this...
Your comments about Ellis and JP are banal and childish...

| It seems from what I'm reading that Dallas has some difficult issues. Sadly, some folk are a real challenge when it comes to trying to help save them from themselves. Hope he can rediscover the discipline he used when playing RL accept any help given, and turn a corner.
Great player on the field, who will now be remembered for what he did after his playing days.
