There are 2 or 3 things that are causing problems at the moment
1. The RFL as not been paid for the England game in Denver
2. The England v New Zealand test match v New Zealand at Anfield as been brought forward a day so a Everton game can be played that day!they have had to refund thousands in refunds and some fans are not going to the game because they have bought flight/hotel tickets.

The game at Anfield has been pushed back a day because it clashed with Everton-Brighton, that’s a police issue and I’m not sure the blame lies with the RFL, the fixture was set before the Premier League fixtures came out, although it was always more likely they would play the Saturday.

Anyone with half a brain cell knows that if Liverpool are away, Everton are at home.

It should have been arranged for the Sunday from the very beginning.

It was difficult for them I suppose because Evertons fixture could always have been moved for Sky coverage.

Whoever is to blame (probably nobody) doesn’t matter but it’ll no doubt have a big knock on effect on the crowd. I was going with a group of about ten on the Saturday evening and making a day of it round Liverpool. That is now down to just 4 or 5 hardcore fans as the other lads aren’t huge fans but were going for the day out. I’m sure there’s plenty of others in the same boat.

Probably only 60% of Premier League games are played on Saturday, that being said they backed the outsider on that one and lost.

I’m the same,would have 100% been there on Saturday with a good crowd of mates (most with only a small intrest in rugby and more intrest in the day out), now I’m not so sure I will go and if I do it will be with reduced numbers.

I can say with some degree of certainty this is unlikely to be caused by Merseyside Police. This year, they coped with the Grand National at Aintree, LFC v Bournemouth, Tall ships event on the Mersey and UFC at the Echo arena on the same day on a Bank Holiday weekend in August. I’m sure a low level rugby game on the same day as Everton play wouldn’t break them.

How is that the fault of the RFL?



The RFL unfortunately do not have a crystal ball and couldn’t look into the future to see whether Everton/Liverpool, who I may add take priority over this as they should, would move their games for Sky.



Again, how is this the RFL’s fault?

Aintree is not less than a mile from Goodison, Anfield is. Its not just a question of policing it would mean approx. 40k more on top of a full house at Goodison all on the same road. UFC, Tall Ships are not getting the attendances that football and RL will get. There is a potential of 81k people wanting the same parking given the Everton capacity and the last RL game at Anfield.

The game v Huddersfield has been switched to a Thursday night. Complete and utter shambles.
