Lots of negativity this year and understandably so. Many games full of dull, tedious rugby. Lack of atmosphere as fans find it harder and harder to stay awake. A team that has never reached potential due to a plethora of injuries and questionable coaching.

BUT that game reminded me why I fell in love with the sport and why there's no sport like it when it reaches the heights. Fantastic entertainment, great atmosphere and a terrific effort and performance from both teams- well played lads! More of the same going forward!

I missed the game as I am in France at the moment, gutted really as by all accounts it was a fantastic game to watch.

You missed a belter! Win or lose, that's what the public deserve and want to see. It's not so long ago that this fixture (and others including the top teams) would have virtually guaranteed that quality such as that was delivered. Here's hoping the season ends with a roar because God knows the supporters have waited long enough.

At long last the team remembered how to play rugby - not sure if it was a case of the team just deciding sod it we have nothing to lose or what but suddenly we actually looked like a decent team again with things like offloads and passing(!)

I'm pretty sure the players got so fed up of the ref (and who wouldn't he was awful for both teams - did his level best to ruin the game) that they got so fired up that the coaching game plan went out of the window and they just threw the ball around and it worked!

Indeed. This plus the Cowboys v Broncos game have rejuvenated my.interest for the rest of the season. It was all a bit 'meh' before yesterday

Last night is the first time in a while that I've read about a game the next morning and thought, damn, I wish I'd gone! But I'm too far away to go to every game. I'm going to get up for the semi. Just hope it's not in Hull! (Can it be still?)

I've watched the highlights of last nights game about 7 times now and it's still not getting old. From the stupid middle aged Wire fans dancing around like morons at the front of the stand when they score to them streaming out of the ground with their head in their hands when Gelling forward rolls over the try line. Incredible.

It's been a long time coming, but this Wigan team has it in them to perform like that. Big wins away at Hull and now Warrington and a win next week should guarantee 2nd place. Been saying all season we'd stroll into the top 4 and make the GF. Have an awful feeling we'll fall short at OT again but you've got to be in it to win it.

Wire looked out on their feet last night and Hull have fallen off the pace.

Wire will bottle it at home to Saints, and we'll beat hull.

Yes, if we fail to beat Catalans and Hull fail to beat Wire. We'd be 3rd on points diff, with Hull 2nd.

I also think it's a good thing we are out of the equation for the LLS too, no added pressure on Friday. Hull and Wire will be both be going for it, let them knock 7 bells out of each other and then try to lift themselves for a semi & GF in the weeks after.
