IIRC the full contact training they do gave us some injury problems last year.

I don't really have a problem with him going in full steam to be honest. I'd imagine it's difficult for him to prepare properly for the blood and thunder of gameday otherwise, The u19s should probably know what it's like to have seasoned players trying to put shots on them as well, otherwise they could be in for a big shock when they debut.

What opposition fans will take from this: Wane is coaching his squad to harm kids

As Wane brought most of the current first team youngsters through, i think he has some idea what he is doing

Micky Mac should be first in line to help coach the young'uns when he retires, just for his attitude alone.
Might be tough on the kids right now, but at least they will have nothing to worry about when they step up.

In the forces you are beasted straight away, you are pushed to your limits to see where those limits are. If you haven't got the mentality or fight for it then you don't make it. You are either thrown out or you walk out. The guys who spend good careers in the forces come out well educated and drilled men. (apart from the poor lads who get depression whom the government like to ignore, but that's another topic)

What i am saying is, You need to be pushed to breaking point to realise your potential.

All rugby players think they are tough men at all levels. Well to step up to the ultimate you need to prove it. Any player that shy's away simply isn't in the Wigan mould and will find themselves at Widnes.

its not as if they are actual kids is it. they will be in the 17+ age range (most of them). i know when i was that age i would have turned out a lot better if i had had a good beasting

To have these under 19's in the firing line is just wrong.

I don't know in what context this was said and how he can get onto such a subject to make such comments.

And yet when we play young lads in the first team it is more likely to be when we are weakest rather than with a nearly full team behind them.
