Sounds ridiculous but guessing he's accusing him of going down easily when being tackled whilst kicking? A few of the challenges did seem innocuous but when you're on the receiving end of them you think they're penalties (e.g. Australia did them pretty much every time England kicked in the 4N but none were penalised). If anyone claims Ah Van's tackle was a split second badly timed challenge, then so are most tackles on kickers.

Also I doubt he used the word cheating, just some spin by The Mirror.

Irrespective of what's in the Mirror tomorrow, I have to say I have thoroughly disliked Shaun Wane's attitude recently. He's come across as an arrogant, sore loser at times. I'd also prefer that he deal with a few more things in-house rather than sharing all with the media.

A bit more humility, class and professionalism needed in my opinion.

If so it's hardly worth a mention and Wane doing so is probably a pointer as to why our players keep getting sucked in to pointless battles.

Did Mellor go down easy a few times? Without doubt! (the one with Sutton were O'Carroll ran in was embarrassing) but they were scrapping for every advantage they could get after Ah Van went off and sucked us in to a scrappy, niggle fest which was perfect for them.

I back Wane to the hilt and I'm 100% sure he is the right man for Wigan and will be for years to come but he needs to wise up a bit at the moment.

Seems in conflict with IL's comments at the fans forum "we need to be nicer and be liked by other clubs and walk hand in hand with Saints skipping down the road". IMO the sport needs all the publicity it can get, Morinho's comments in the other game don't seem to do the club / football any harm.

What a Clown he was a dog of a player and is a dog of a coach. no morals no class and no sense. TBH it was Wigan cheating as they where always offside hence being able to get to the kicker/ On a serious note he is making your club a laughing stock. The Wigan sides of old played expansive RL and good to watch but this clown has dragged you into the gutters.

He actually mentions the cheating twice. That's where the Mirror picked it up from.

Wane has become the Dave Whelan of rugby league - everytime he opens his gob most sensible Wiganers put their head in their hands.

Everytime time he decides to open his mouth he needs to pause and think "What would Madge do?" - the answer is easy, say nothing and do your talking on the pitch.

I've no idea what he thought he would gain from the statement even if what he is saying is true.

However there were multiple times on these boards when there was near meltdown because Madge or IL had refused to comment on RFL decisions, Disciplinary outcomes, poor refereeing or other coaches comments (Nathan Brown after Luke Brown got banjoed of SOL?) etc.

Best to take the high moral ground and keep shtum IMO, but its lose / lose as far as fickle fans are concerned

Big-fat-hairy-deal, our resident silverback has a pop at someone deliberately trying to gain an advantage by feigning or exaggerating contact. This is rugby, not wendyball. Anyone who didn't point it out and turned a blind-eye would be suspect in my book.

Instead of criticising what SW has apparently said, those who actually give a toss, should be looking at whether there [uwas[/u an attempt to cheat and have a go at them. I wasn't alone in giving abuse to Tomkins when he was rolling about on the park right below my seat like a stuck pig and I'd repeat it for anyone who tried it on again - from either side - no matter how senior.

no - i blame the wannabe trolls for jumping up & down about nothing. I expect the journos to make a mountain out of a molehill - it sells copy. My point is that if SW has pointed out someone trying to gain an unfair advantage, why is he being lambasted? In this instance, [ihe [/iappears to be the messenger who's being shouted down.
I don't care who does it, cheating is cheating and has no place in our sport.

What I would suggest most people are "jumping up and down about", is that Shaun Wane has spoken in the press about players trying to influence referees. Which subconsciously could have the effect of influencing referees.

It's the hypocrisy. You can't complain about players trying to milk decisions from refs (which has gone on since the dawn of the sport) and then in the next breath say that referees need to be watching out for it.
