| Got beat again nt 16 - 14. Very disjointed performance. I don't think swapping the halfbacks every week is helping.

| The u19's are struggling at the minute but there's some young lads who need to play and learn from their mistakes.
Today's match wasn't the best and the half back situation isn't the best. The young lad making his debut tried hard but if Shorrocks is injured he shouldn't play.
I thought Lever and Sutton tackled everything and both played well and Wright made some good yards.

| What's going on with Wigan's academy as they gave the Rhinos a proper hiding during the pre season tournament over in Perpignan and looked like cleaning up the trophies this season?
Are they predominantly playing as a side a few years under the age group?
I'm gobsmacked at how well our boys are doing at the moment as we are a very young side but are currently winning games against much older sides

| I am not too worried about recent results. We will have periods like this as we try to juggle the lads within the limitations of the present system. A good few of our youngsters have stepped up to senior level and are still available for u19s, this gives others a chance. At the end of the day it is all about producing future stars. Unlike some other clubs wins at junior level are not all we can look forward to. If I have a concern it is about playing 16 year olds against 19s too often. It must also be difficult for the new senior players to carry the team against single age group set ups. Last year some of our opposition looked like babies by comparison so it must be our turn now.

| Quite a few of the 19's from last season have played at a higher level this time around and a couple have been injured that would be mainstays I reckon.
Bretherton/Thompson?
I think if Wigan were determined to win a particular 19's game and turned up with Tierney, Thompson, Burgess as a back 3 alongside Hampshire and Williams in the halves then they'd have the edge on most backlines around.
It's about getting them through to first team though in the long run not the scorelines in these games.

| Aren't there quite a few on dual reg? Probably for the best if the best are playing a higher standard and the rest have competitive games in the u19s, even if we are sometimes on the wrong end of the scoreline.

Bretherton tore his ACL in the pre season trip to France in the Leeds game.

The Widnes game? I would imagine so. The Widnes #4 Ryan Ince had a very good game.

| Thought Salvilla, The Widnes hooker, had a good game as well (as did Callum Wright for us). Liked the way he dropped in as a half-back for one of the Widnes tries. Looks an intelligent player but may be a bit on the small side.
