| Attendance last night only 66281. Disappointing saying that beginning of the week a full house was forecast. Thoughts

| I can't quite work out why their was a big game in the middle of the warrington end. That makes no sense.
BUT as ever for me, two many price categories puts people off when the RFL take over events. Then they have so many deals it boggles the mind at times and in my view puts people (neutrals) off.

| This isn't a trolling attempt but I was actually a bit disappointed with wires turnout. They where very vocal and got behind their team but there seemed to be quite a few gaps around their end. I'd expected them to sell out for a final V Wigan. Not sure what the turnout was like from us either to be fair but from what I've seen on tv our end seemed pretty full.

| MASSIVE block of empty seats smack bang in the middle of the Dire end.
Guess they must have known deep down they faced nothing but heartbreak.

| The upper tier of the Stretford End was literally half empty. Disappointing from our Wolfs friends. Very few neutrals again I thought, but not surprising with a World Cup approaching.

Yes the middle of the first tier is corporate which makes it strange the rest of the end was not full.
Beaten on the field outnumbered off the field.
All in all not a good night for our wire friends !

| I was also surprised by Wires turnout, they always seem to give it the big I am when it comes to attendances in previous finals so I guess my expectations were too high. As for the attendance, it was also reflected in the Cup final...hopefully it's a sign that people are saving their money for the World Cup rather than neutrals losing interest. We shall see.

| 78,000 at the CC, 66,000 at the GF.
I think despite the GF being the current way to decide the champions (which is us in case anyone forgot already ) the CC is much more "neutral-friendly".
The GF is partisan. The CC is an occasion with a weekend out in London for a lot of people.

| The 2nd tier of the west stand was around 1/3 full and the NW quadrant had nobody at all in it. That said I still think Wire did really well for such a small club. People forget that they only attracting crowds of around 4-5k when they were playing at the zoo. Bless em

| Very few Yorkies there on Saturday..... had Leeds been playing 5000 'Ull fans would have been there just to support their opponents!
FWIW, I quite liked the empty spaces, made me feel at home being a Salford fan

Given OT is only a stones throw away for the majority of fans in the NW you would think that the huge cost differential would mean more would turn up to the GF (from the two clubs in question) relative to the CC final though. It would be almost as much as the ticket (if not more) to just travel to London, for Wigan/Warrington fans it's comparatively inexpensive.
I think fans are generally being turned off and can't be d as well as having to think about other financial priorities...

I agree but I had a great seat for the CC at £21 (x 2) and while I had a good view for £30 (x 2) at the GF (despite seating problems mentioned elsewhere) I paid £14 for parking close the ground (my choice so fair enough) compared to a few quid at Stanmore and a tube fair that let me and my son have a nice wander around central London.

It's a valid point, but how many neutrals normally attend a Grand Final? As mentioned above, I doubt it attracts the same level of neutrals that wembley does.
Warrington's poor attendance was to blame, otherwise there'd have been at least 70k there like normal. I was confused as to the poor attendance from them, considering how most considered them favourites and it being only their second appearance.

| I am almost sure the lad on the right as you look at it was in the Wigan end....behind the sticks in row EE...........
if not him then it was a relation of his with his Wire shirt on, he was all smiles and jumping for joy up until about 52 minutes. Then he sank lower and lower into his seat and disappeared completely with 5 minutes to go

I'll Admit that doesn't look good. I have a picture of your end and it was only the upper left hand side (my left, your right) of your end that had big empty spaces, good turn out
I don't agree with all that 'corporate area' cr@p, A lot of people (me for example) could have gone into the lower tier, which is where I wanted to be! In all fairness I did think this would be the game to sell out and it boggles me to think why it didn't. It had all the making to be a classic and it turned out to be one as well. It was a great game, upsetting yes, but when you think about it... there wasn't much missing from it. It had everything.
