| Rod Studd has just been on trying to convince the rest of the panel how we've got no chance in the play offs.
Now, if we were in 2011, I'd agree with Rod. But there's just something about us this year. The optomist in me is saying that not us playing well recently is because we're trying to time ourselves back into form come play off time, using our CC Final win as a catalyst.
Thoughts?

I wouldn't say we have no chance, but I don't expect us to win the Super League either. We'll almost certainly need to beat 2 of Huddersfield, Leeds and Warrington in consecutive weeks in order to win the league. Our records against them are Huddersfield (W0 D0 L2), Leeds (W1 D0 L1), Warrington (W0 D1 L1). Add to that that we've had a shocking record against Warrington stretching back 9 seasons, we're in poor form going into the play offs and that both times Wane has met any of them in a knockout game (i.e Leeds twice last year) we have lost, and it doesn't look good. However, anything can happen on the night, I can see us managing to turn Leeds or Huddersfield over in the play offs, it's Warrington that concerns me more, it would be brilliant to get that monkey off our backs at Old Trafford!

| I was massively encouraged by Saturdays performance tbh. We can play much better with the ball but that aggressive defence was back and to win a game in conditions like that will really serve us well for the play offs.
The pressure is off now as well with one of the big trophies already in the bag. I really think we'll come close to the double this year.

| The cc final showed that we can amend our game plan to suit the conditions. That was a big improvement from recent big games where we try and play the same whatever the situation.
Our defence looked solid and we managed far better ball control than in the past few weeks.
Gives reason for confidence going into the play offs.
Remember we made Leeds look like a 2nd division team last year in regular rounds them we lose to them I. The play offs. Completely different situations.

| Didn't see the whole game, was in work for the first half sadly, but we seemed to adapt well to Hull's rush defence by using grubber kicks to pin them back. Little variations like that, as well as the composure we were able to show by not just throwing the ball around constantly, will do us well in the playoffs I reckon.

| Our 'move' has been found out.
Hull arked their defence pushing up on the edges forcing use to play down the middle, because of his Sam was used more of a traditional FB and not a second receiver (bascially we could find him because of where their def was positioned.
Gutting to see we're still using this and pretty much this only. Because of this we're pretty easy to defend against FOR THE TOP TEAMS.
Our tactics are good enough to beat pretty much anyone but Wire and Leeds.
One of them two will win it.
Hull are pretty much on a par with Huddersfield.

| Before Saturday I was saying that if we won the CC then we wouldn't be any good in the play offs. As normally winning the CC is a massive amount of effort both physically and mentally. But Saturdays match was not as physically draining as hat it could have been by a long chalk. Mentally, the jury is still out as this weeks parade and other celebrations may do.

| I still think Huddersfield are a lot better team than people are giving them credit for. Wouldn't at all surprise me to see them in the GF.

| At the start of the season Rod Studd, Stevo and the journos where all of the same opinion about Wigan in that this season we would really struggle.
Lima, Finch Leuluai & Carmont had left and the new halves would not cope with coming into the Wigan squad. The missing also went to Hock and Prescott yet with the youngest sqaud in SL the players have acheived an awful lot including silverware which the experts thought was beyond them.
I like Back Chat but their precdictions are amusing as they are somewhat wrong at times!

| I have no doubt anyone of the top 4 can win the Grand final as it is the most open for years , unfortunatley for the main reason there are no outstanding sides this time round , its a real tricky one as Wire seem to have Wigans measure . hudds have Leeds sussed , Leeds may have the edge over Wire and Wigan have the pressure off by winning the cup

I suspect they'll prove a much tougher challenge in the play offs like they usually do
