No real surprise here neither!

Wigan Warriors Head Coach Shaun Wane has today named his 19 Man Squad for Saturday's Tetley's Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium.

The Warriors go into the showpiece clash against Hull FC at near-full strength, as Darrell Goulding and Captain Sean O'Loughlin return from injury.

Both the Warriors centre and loose forward missed last weekend's defeat to Catalan Dragons in France but have been declared fit to line up on Saturday. Meanwhile the Airlie birds are expected to welcome Tom Lineham, Kirk Yeaman, Danny Tickle, Richard Horne and Joe Arundel back into their 19 man squad.

Went and watched the team leave from the DW this morning, I did not see Dudson but did see Sam Powell.

If Logan gets on the pitch I'll cry.

Pretty much as expected. Only surprise for me is Gelling not even in the 19 (I'd pick him at LC over Thornley). I'd play Hampshire and Crosby too but I don't think Wane will. I expect we'll line up as following:

I would have Hughes and Logan missing out but I think Logan will play and Crosby will miss out.

Probably do, the hair is thinning and my hearing don't seem as good as it use to do, comes to all eventually! I did not see Goulding or MM, but my son saw them get on the coach. Maybe I was too busy watching Kelly interviewing

Lineham has had an operation today so he is not in the squad. Horne and Crooks back in though - probably Horne and Green/Pitts to miss out for us

if Wane tries to get 80 minutes out of MM on that pitch, i'll cry.

It's probably the lesser of two evils having Hughes on the bench rather than Logan. They're both off form (well, I can't really remember Logan having any stand-out games ever so not sure if it counts as bad form) but hooker's the more important position. Hampshire would have been the best choice IMO but he's not had a look in

That is exactly the squad that I would have picked and I cant say that I am surprised that Lauaki or Gelling arent in the squad as they are both too much of a liability in a big game like this.

Are you not worried about Thornley? Very shakey in defence, lining up against Ben Crookes who has been awesome this year

Not really, certainly no more than I would be if it was Gelling whose defence is just as bad anyway.

They're being saved for the following week which is massive league match for Wigan

Can't remember Gelling getting caught out defensively, certainly nowhere near as often as Thornley

He's a worry for me, hope the second row on that side (Farrell?) gives plenty of slide

in theory id rather have Gelling in the 17 than Logan, ive never seen Logan actually do anything... cant think why he gets games for us

Im not surprised that Wane has opted for Thornley because he does seem to favour him.

He hit a purple patch around that time imo.

Anyways, hes not meant to be a match winner/game breaker, hes there to do a solid job whilst MM has a breather.
I dont think MM can be expected to do 80 mins at Wembley, so i would prefer 15 minutes from a specialist hooker , rather than switch the whole team around

Will you be having a wager on this? Remember the last time we had a couple (!) of quid on a Wigan v Hull game, Mr B! Scary stuff was that to say the least

Could be a case of who has the better ball control tomorrow, doubt we will see expansive rugby. The weather forecast is for heavy rain from this evening until well after the game.
