Also in ibis. Travelling down early sat morning, stay over them return Sunday. 4 of us. Hoping for a good atmosphere in bar afterwards regardless of result. Any recommendations for pubs nearby? Stayed in central London in 2011 so sampling Wembley area this time.

well the norm mate the torch. the green man. greyhound few more cannot remember the names. but its not the best place for pubs to be honest

Staying at St.Giles in Feltham Friday and Saturday, getting the train from there early Saturday morning.

Staying at the hotel at West Ham Utd's ground in East London! Well out of the way, but got a very cheap deal so going down the friday night and getting the tube to wembley, cannot wait!

Not sure what hotel yet but probably The Green Man before the game then into central to celebrate after (hopefully) with a big night in Islington

Always stay in Canary Wharf - plenty of good places to stay that are cheap at weekend. Loads of places to get a drink and bite to eat and the tube goes straight to Wembley.

Crown Plazza Hotel London Docklands . Flights to/from Edinburgh to London City Airport Friday to Sunday .

Day trip for me. Train into Victoria then tube up. Probably stop off at Baker St for a pint on the way.

Osterley Park Hotel. It doesn't look that good but it's cheap at least, we'll probably only be awake in there for a total of 2 hours anyway. Where does everyone go before and after the game in Wembley? It'll be my birthday so we'll want to make a night of it

Who cares what it is like mate only getting your head down shower and eat .probably good bet mate is to the torch b4 and after as it is a special day for you

Booked in Travelodge tower bridge , 4 weatherspoons within 5 minute walk and direct tube to Wembley

Had a conversation last year with some Wire fans who had stayed in the Highwayman at Dunstable for £30 a night and they had booked again for this year so they may have a few vacancies

In the Ibis next to the stadium for Sat & Sun nights - £125 without breakfast when we booked it. Moving up the road to the Premier Inn on the Monday night, as for £25 it was cheaper to stay another day than book on a train coming back to Wigan on the Bank Holiday! Two return tickets and three nights stay for £200 total.

Have stayed in that Ibis once previously, but of the local pubs, have only been into the Wetherspoons on Wembley High Road, which I expect will be pretty busy on match day.

Also, for those staying in Wembley beyond the Saturday, it's worth noting that Wembley Park underground will be effectively closed on Sunday 25th, though there's replacement bus services.

Stayed in the Hilton Last year and booked late. Was expensive but worth it. I booked it again this year back when we drew Widnes £100 per night for a double inc breakfast. My mate went to book it the night of the semi final and it had shot up to £230 per night.

Still need somewhere to indulge myself in alcohol later hoping we can get close to the Wetherspoons on the High Street

train from lake district £34 each way first class,staying 3 nights at the waldorf in the city,2 club wembley packages @£238 each.had club wembley 2 years ago worth every penny.

St. james's Tavern near Piccadilly circus always seems to be the mecca for Wigan fans on Friday evening, and then again early on match day.

All this talk of Tube to Wembley... WOT.
Get the tube by all means from wherever you're staying, but to Marylebone. Then Chiltern line to Wembley Stadium. 1 stop, 10 mins, station next to stadium... couple of minutes walk to the North West entrances.



Special trains, in addition to scheduled services run to and from the stadium on the day.

You can also use zone 4 travel card on the train.

You can be knocking the froth* of your first celebration pint in Central Smoke less than 30 mins after the final whistle.

*metaphorically speaking

I'll do a day trip too.

Train to Euston. Then ride around on the tube having a pint in a different areas. Probably have a pint in the Red Lion on Whitehall where discerning rugby fans tend to go, good area for a few photo opportunities. Then tube to Baker Street. Soak up a bit of atmosphere with a couple of jars, then you can get a fast tube train to Wembley, buy a couple of cans and drink them on Wembley way. Tube back to Euston via Baker Street and see if I can have time for a pint before the train home.

Does anyone know if there are any works on the line as there have been on the Aug. bank holiday for the past couple of years?
