If you are travelling to the Galpharm Stadium on Saturday, there is a good chance that you may get held up for at least an hour . Well there will be if you decide to call in at the Rugby League Heritage Centre. It is situated in the basement of the George Hotel , very near to the main railway station.
The Centre has a collection of rare memorabilia, ancient caps and jerseys, valuable medals and trophies, old programmes and newspaper cuttings and digitised century old photographs.
This quite unique visitor attraction charts the progress of our game in a user friendly format that will appeal to fans of all ages.
You will also see a collection of over 200 framed prints in the hotel's public areas, before entering the main display in the purpose built exhibition hall.
Admission is free, although donations are always welcome and on the left hand side as you enter there is a collection of some of the most recently published books, novels, magazines, DVDs, and RLHC tee shirts and pens on sale.

I visited a few weeks ago and I would recommend it to any fan. Some really interesting things in there. The only gripe I had was having to carry my disabled daughter up and down the stairs. Not really much of a bother but well worth it
