| I know people talk about 'wide to west' as one of the greatest last minute wins and rightly so... but we have had some quality games which we have stolen right at the death.
Which one is your favourite and why?
For me it is between 3 games.
Bradford at home 2000 - Kris Radlinski scored as the last second of the game went by. I was only 10. That game seriously got me into supporting Wigan. The atmosphere leaving the ground was special with everyone beeping their horns.
Bradford away 2007 - Maybe not won in the last few seconds but the comeback which went before hand made Pats dropgoal even more special. I have never seen Wigan fans celebrate like that. Barrett was sensational.
Saints at home 2011 - Last gasp try from Farrell. Loved it. What an atmosphere at the end!

| St Helens, Good Friday this year is the only game where I have seen us win a game at the death and for me is probably the best. The two games mentioned against Bradford I wasn't able to get to and the one against Bradford in 2007, is one I regret not going to.
I enjoyed the 22-22 draw at Headingley this season and also the win in 2007 I think where Bailey scored in the last minute!

| Still that Bradford away game for me. Knew that was my choice before I even opened the thread and saw you had put it. I agree yeah maybe not last minute but come on sensational game and as good as.

| 21 years on, the thought of Ellery Hanley putting Andy Goodway in under the posts in the last minute of the Challenge cup semi final at Old Trafford still brings a smile to my face.
Against St Helens as well. Sublime.

Have you also forgot the week after at the KC stadium when Barrett basically beat Hull single handedly.

| Four games stick out for me:
1. Saints Good Friday. 'Nuff said.
2. Phil Ford's last gasp effort against Hull KR at CP in the 80s. A pivotal moment in our push for the title against our nearest challengers.
3. Bradford in the playoffs - the comeback to end all comebacks!
4. Leeds last season. 8 ponts behind with a minute to go and yet we get a draw!

| The challenge cup semi final in (I think) 1990 or 1992 at Old Trafford against Saints.
The game was locked at 8-8, when Hanley did one of his weaving runs, and handed the ball to Andy Goodway, who went in under the posts.
As per usual, the Saints fans swore blind the pass was forward (it wasn't) and still do to this day, which makes the win even more sweet.

| I said 2000 more because we hadn't been at the then "JJB stadium" very long and you felt it needed a game like that to kick start it, it felt a bit like home after that game, its the game that really stands out as a "classic" in my mind.

| Not a good old glory era game but for me, it's Bradford away 2007.
I remember being resigned to losing and spending most of the first half as well as the start of the second not really facing the game and having a depressed chin wag at the back of the terrace probably discussing the off season.
Then it all happened and I was caught doing a camp little dance on national television. Excellent.

Oh yes it jolly well was It was featured on Skys sporting moments, just as EH passed the ball the adverts came on, after 3 or so minutes the match came back on, the pass was so far forward AG still hadn't caught the ball

It was 1990, and the score was 14-14 ............ if you can't even get those basic facts correct, how do you expect us to trust your judgement on whether the pass was forward or not.
Fortunately, if you can be bothered to get out your old video tapes (yes, the match was before the invention of dvd, kids ) ; then the pass can be proved to be a forward pass.
In one of the few facts you recalled correctly, the match was at Old Trafford, and the soccer markings were still visible.......... Hanley released the ball about one yard outside the soccer penalty area, and as Goodway caught it, his feet are on the line marking the edge of the box, and the ball is in front of him (i.e. inside the box) .......... hence the ball must have travelled forward.

This was 1990 , when a forward pass was a forward pass ..... and before Stevo changed the rules to allow everyone to act like a NFL quarterback and chuck it miles downfield.

Thank you .......
pause the video as Hanley releases it (10 secs) ; and then again as Goodway catches it (11 secs) ........... pretty conclusive if you ask me.
Funnily enough, I watched this match as a neutral, back then I alternated between watching Saints, Wigan and Widnes ........... and as Goodway was my favourite player I was delighted this was awarded. It wasn't until 1993 that I decided to pin my colours to a single team.
