| Really good performance, score doesn't reflect the game due to awful refereeing decisions plus Sinfield having an off day with the book.
Ryan Hall and Sam were the standouts.

| I must have high standards because the defence and discipline would embarrass a schoolboy team. They scored nearly every time they got into our 20m. There was no structure to the attack. 5 of their tries came from penalties or errors from Chase and Westwood.
Hall, Sam and Roby played well.

| Thought the defence was awful TBH, but for a change the backs outdid the forwards, mind you that idiot coach picked a very light bench.

| With the exception of Rangi Chase and Kirk Yeaman (and a few silly penalties from Westwood) I think we played excellent. Think we've got enough to beat NZ and have another go at the aussies.
The ref was completely out of his depth.
Tomkins, Reed, Hall, and Roby ran the show. Class.

| Need 4 props. Chase is an idiot. They are honestly my only complaints. I am very happy with the performance and fancy englands chances in the future. Oh and england seem determined to charge out of the line at every opportunity...

| I still think that had T-Rex walked and Briscoe was given the try (the correct calls by the way !) then the game should have rightly swung for us.
Chase had a few brain sh*ts during the game BUT it is players like that who will cause the aussies problems. I like the fact he is unpredictable. Sam was outstanding today because he did things that aren't predictable. We have our predictable & sensible players like Sinfield & Roby who the Aussies can usually read. Chase just adds another dimension which makes teams stand off - This gives players like Sam the extra space.
Saying all that though, I still feel robbed !

| Two points.
Referee was a complete and utter joke. The try that never was and he let them get away with a lot of messing around and holding at the PTB. I could go on but i would be here all night
Chase MOS looks even more stupid than it did when it was announced. Look at how Roby and Sam played compared to him I thought Sinfield was poor in the halves and that Chase was better but i couldnt of been more wrong.

| You guys must have low standards we got beat by 16 points.
Having said that some individual players played well, Sam Tomkins was good so were Reed and Hall.

to be fair to westwood he only got penalised for what the convicts was doing all the game , as for the biased ref no try for briscoe , the high shot on westwood where he stated it came of his shoulder lol , tipping tomkins over on his head after the tackle completed etc etc , the guy ruined a great game

If the ref would of given that try that should of been it wouldnt of been 16. We were in there fighting for most of the game and I still think we can play much better. Poor defence cost us on reflection but there were signs of encouragment there overall.
No way was it a 16 point game.

| Chase should be dropped to the bench and Widdop given a chance at 7. He's a similar player to Chase but seems to have some common sense. Sinfield may not be a superstar but he's done alright and has a good passing and kicking game. He looks better at 6 where he he time on the ball.
A 4th prop on the bench seems essential because Wilkin and JJB are offering pretty much the same thing off the bench. Injuries to Peacock, Ellis and Graham are concerns though.
The biggest positives were Sam Tomkins and Ryan Hall finally playing at their best on the international stage.

| the ref seemed to start off okay, but when England scored the first try, it seemed to all change. The high tackle, should've been a yellow. Fight should've had yellows. Disallowed try was a try.
England didn't play great, but neither did the aussies. And to think I was praising NRL refs earlier on today...

High tackle should have been a red...I don't think they give yellows for high shots.
Shaun Edwards got sent off for doing that to Bradley Clyde in 1994.
In fact it was a worse tackle than what Morley did to Robbie Kearns in 2003 and got sent off for it.
If I'd have been ref it would have been a straight red.

Yes it was a far more entertaining game because the playtheball was policed better.
If I wanted to be able to make a cup of tea between seeing a man getting tackled and the ball being played I'd watch a union game.

| I was bitterly disappointed with Reed in defense. Coming from the NRL I fully expected top notch defense from him. Yet what we got was someone rushing out of the defensive line every two minutes to shut the play down. He cost us two tries today by doing that.
I thought the back three were very good alongside Graham. Disappointed with Highton also.

| Still carrying too much dead wood. Morley & Peacock are past it at this level, and Wilkin & JJB should be nowhere near the side. Losing Graham was a big blow, he was immense first half.
I was impressed with all the back line, though, which is an area we've traditionally struggled. With a more sensible pack selection, it was there to be won after Slater went off.

| MOS Rangi Chase made four mistakes which contributed to Aussie tries...the interception, the 20m kick, rushing out of the line in between 2 Aussies and one more which I can't remember. I guess I'll have to watch it again. However with ball in hand he looked quick and evasive so if he can cut out the silly mistakes he will be fine.
I think Sinfield should be replacement hooker to give Roby longer rests so he can be more devastating when he comes on. Then we can keep Widdop on for all the game.
I think we lost because of injuries to key forwards Ellis and Graham who were magnificent early on.
Great game. Bring on New Zealand.

They took the lying on and ing around but as soon as we did it he was having none of it. The referee ruined it.
I enjoyed the game even though i only watched it on TV. International rugby league has gone up in my estimations a lot and i even got a few casual watchers with me interested. Thinking of making the trip to Hull next week now
We need more games against Aus and NZ and international rugby league can definatley get a lot bigger.
Stev Mcnamara needs to have a pop at the refereeing for next week. It will do the competition a world of good in we as hosts get in the final

| The best England performance for a long time. I have seen England be annihalated in similar games before but there is a lot more belief about this team and they did well. They kept going to the end and despite some dubious refereeing still had a real chance of winning it. Yes England still lost but there was a lot of positives to build on and the match, and England's performance, did the image of international RL the world of good imo.
