The book will officially be launched on 23rd November at 6.30pm at Wigan St Judes club, all welcome. Guest speakers to be confirmed.

Graeme will also be doing a book signing on the 26th November at Waterstones in Wigan.

Oooh, i wonder what he has to say about the infamous 1993 Regal Trophy final, concerning the coach then, John Dorahay, and the major incidents that happened that day.

I will be buying. GW is perhaps the most underrated influence on the rise of Wigan RL in the 80's. A fantastic leader on and off the pitch, and if there were any balance between salary and sporting pleasure, this guy would be a millionaire.

Seriously though, I will be at Judes to get my Xmas present from the kids signed.

I shall be after this one. My late father met him before he became coach but after West had retired from playing and was working as part of the back room staff.

My Dad had lost some match tickets behind the back of the fireplace (:rollicon_smile.gif and went along to see if he could get replacements. West could not have been more helpful and was a true gent.

I have always thought it a great pity he was lost to club after losing the coaches job because he was a great asset to the place before he ever took up the coaching role.

If i remember right, he also did a good job of the coaching when he did it, and as you say a true gent.

Was heavily involved in the 'Knights of Central Park' scheme back in the mid/late 80's IIRC. (My dad was a member of this scheme). Does anyone know what this involved?

My dad was in it too. Was basically the supporter's club. Vaguely remember going to a couple of the Christmas parties when I was a kid

Yes.

Basically you paid a monthly amount to Wigan. For this you got a few benefits such as:

1. Monthly prize draw
2. Preferential ticket purchases
3. Social odds and sods etc

Oh and not forgetting the very exclusive car stickers



Was a good way of raising money and Graeme West championed it.
