| I'm probably just reading too much in to a game that I watched back until 2am this morning, but a couple of little things got me thinking?
1. Coley retires at the end of the season.
2. Coley was rested last night, but rather than sit on the bench with the rest of the non-participants, he was up on the gantry with Madge and Waney.
3. Coley took Rad's job of introducing the player in the bar last night, which is what Vievers always used to do when he was assistant.
Like I said - I suspect that I'm reading far too much in to nothing (and indeed it looks increasingly that way to me as I type it out), but it made some kind of sense at 2.00 this morning.
For me, I wouldn't be disappointed at all if Andy joined our coaching staff, although I'd rather they talked him in to doing another year on the field.

Not a daft idea at all, though I agree that it would be better if he played on for one more year.

| Hasn't he got some sort of degree/qualifications or business idea lined up for when he retires from Rugby League? I thought I remember hearing he had his career after RL sorted out.

Thats the one! He's focusing on that after he retires from Rugby League.

| would be a good idea.
he's just the kind of player that should make a good coach.
respected, educated, intelligent and with a life outside RL.
i dont think it will happen, but if it did, i am certain he would add to the overall in a positive way.

| He is an experienced player and he had some forwards wanting to prove themselves. I wouldn't be shocked if Madge wanted his opinion.
I did wonder why Coley came to speak in the south stand though. Maybe the club want to give him som kind of role, who knows? For now though he is a player, lets leave it at that.
BTW, he is very well spoken for a big prop forward.
OH and finally.... NO..... its sculthorpe, and I am CHUFFED with that.

| Good theory that makes a lot of sense, i would be happy if it was true.
Coley is a very intelligant player and very underated, when Noble signed Coley and Carmont he did his best piece of business for Wigan in his time at the club.
With Madge leaving it makes sense to have a player that was a big part of the culture change at Wigan to be on the coaching staff, Coley is not only a smart player but he is a leader.
Looking back to his first season with Wigan it was apparent that a minority didnt seem to warm to him despite a very good first year with Wigan, perhaps it was because he was signed from an unfashionable club but it was pleasing to see him prove his doubters wrong.
Id like to see both Andy Coley and Paul Deacon as part of the back room staff eventually.

| I don't think he'll be assistant coach, but it'd be good to see him stay around the club in some sort of role, even if it's just part time to fit around his main career, he's the type of person you want around the club it would seem.

As is PRescott IIRC from being interviewed on BBC during the Saints Semi.
Nothing will compare to *that* Shaun Ainscough interview though.

After the Quins match away IIRC, he looked and spoke like an overexcited boxer dog.

| I'd love for Coley to stay at Wigan as a coach or something of that sort. Don't think that he should be given the assistant job though. I think having Harris will help Wane as the experience will do him well
