Just rewatched the game back and just thought I'd post a topic about Madge about him. Can't fault the guy, seems to get it right everytime after a few mistakes last year.

However, my favourite bit was when the BBC cut to the dressing room after the game, and he's sat on the benches with the lads and banging that box and leading the sing song, absolute quality! Shows how much it means to them!

Could well go down a legend by the time he leaves!

I am gutted he is leaving but he his already one of the best coaches around. He is in huge demand and he believes he belong in aus. I hope he comes back one day.

I love knowing we will turn up. A madge team will always compete. Watch South Sydney win the NRL next year, I have no doubt.

Said on another thread that the CC was the sole aim this year and I think Sam confirmed that in his post match interview and Madge in his reaction. I think the CC was the aim last year and the league this year.

I'd be very surprised if they aim wasn't to win both.

The aim has always been Wembley as far as IL is concerned. His dream is to lead us at Wembley and he'll now get that chance (unless he fancies letting me do it???? No??? Nevermind

Regards Madge I'm not sure he's ever had any ideas other than winning the lot. I spoke to him after the Good Friday game just to wish him luck at Souths and added 'but please get your hands on the CC first'. He responded with 'I want them all mate' The guy is a born winner.

I am hoping for the treble. Have got the treble at work this year with three outstanding ofsted inspections, and it would be fabulous to share the accolade with another awesome team like mine

I'd say he was the best coach we've ever had but I think he'd need to have stayed longer for that. He's certainly made the biggest immediate impact!

Doubt it. They're one of the worst teams in the league. It would be impressive if he turns them around into champs in a season.

What I liked about the game was at the very end when the hooter goes Finch gets tackled and Sam throws the Saints player off Finch and pushes him away and picks Finch up to celebrate, then Hoffman is proper made up when he gets interviewed. God I really want to win the cup!

I don't blame Sam for that one bit - its a wonder it didn't end up with a few fisticuffs. Some Stains 5hlthouse tried to drop Finch on his head even though Finch practically died with the ball on the hooter.

Tough act to follow. simple as that

Its a long time since we have had such an ambitious and focused person at the helm who has the knowledge of the game and total respect of all at the club.
