Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. But, while Shenton was down for one of their tries, they made an interchange. Even though he was down injured, he was still on the field of play and when they brought the interchange on they effectively had 14 players on the pitch. Being picky maybe, but rules are rules and they had 14 players on the pitch at one time.

quite correct, i and my 11 year old lad noticed this at the time so how the official who runs the subs didn't is a mystery, no harm done but makes our game look all the more amateurish

Game should have been stopped seeing as it actually was in the middle of play. Not saints fault nor was it the official on the sideline.

Was kind of Saints and the officials fault, the interchange shouldn't have been made or allowed, but was able to go ahead.

I think this victory is one of the best either team has had for years. When they beat us 75-0 we hadour kids out and played rubbish.... there has been times when we have beaten them easily and they have been poor.

This time we were just plain awesome. Saints made the odd mistake but it was when they were forcing the pass and when we were putting the pressure on. They were not poor as some of their fans will have you know.

Yeh but we where not at your level. Consistency has not been strong with us this year. We all expected another DW game. As it was it was more like the GF game all over again. Except we held out a little longer on Friday than at the GF.

Agreed - the big difference between the two sides IMO is the conditioning and defence. The Wigan defence reminds me of how Saints were back in 2006 and the majority of 2007. Awesome defence does invariably lead to winning rugby league matches. I pointed out to my old man the difference between the size of the Wigan players compared to the size of the Saints players. Seems to me that Saints conditioning isn't quite up to the standard it should be to be able to compete against bigger and stronger sides such as Wigan, Wire and Huddersfield. Saints really do have to look at that and start to add some size and strength to the players especially with Graham leaving next season.

Indeed Saints didn't play that badly. They tried hard and gave it their best shot. They managed to hold a good Wigan side to 32 points and keep the score respectable. Unfortunately it really was men against boys though.

Deacon looks to be in better condition than he has been for years!!! Saints looked very quick and mobile, Wigan looked big and mobile. The kick-chase was astonding, helped by the good kicking. Saints just could not make headway.

We were very good and our completion rate was incredible for 60mins as was our defence but I honestly believe we can play better. I think our attack can get slicker and that's a brilliant thought.

We need to build towards that cup game now.

Hahaha they couldn't get out there own half , the only time they did was off 4 or 5 penalties which they scored off the back of 2 of them
