| Outstanding skill from the two of them shown today.
Carmont in the 2nd half was phenomenal with his offloads and the space he created for Pat. The performance of Joel showed this may be a viable long term bet at right centre.

| JT is looking awesome in the centres! Who needs Gleeson! Carmont, dont expect anything less from him, he has been a tremendous signing setting Pat up for those trys, absolute class.

| Both played excellent. George does not get the credit he deserves and Joel looked comfortable today in his position

| I agree with all this, but I am starting to wonder about Sam at full-back. He creates so much space with his speed and agility. I can't help wondering if we're wasting him at the back.

| A good centre is worth his weight in gold IMO
We should really be looking to keep carmont, can you name any centres that are currently better than him in SL? He seems to be getting better every year

| Once Joel learns the lines to run and can utilize the ball better on a consistent basis we'll have a right player on or hands in that position. The Charnley try inside was an example, earlier in the game he got shoved in to touch but then dropped Charnley off for him to score, quick thinking and use of the ball like that will make him nigh on unstoppable. Carmont was outstanding today and I have to ask the question has he been injured for a while before today as he looked quick and fresh today. Totally made up about the game today.

Quite possibly. It is very rare that you see a centre so strong in both attack and defence and no player his age has that kind of pace.

| Indeed, both centres bossed thier positions most of the time, hopefully Carmont will be here this time next season. Anyone know who could replace him if he does go though?

| In the second half, George and Pat's wing started to look very strong. They caused terrible problems for Saints every timne they got possession, and this is something we've been lacking this season up until now. Our three-quarters have looked a bit pedestrian.
Good to see a timely reminded of what they used to serve up every week last year.

| Personally I thought some of the lines that JT ran were really poor, especially in the 1st half. Eddie and Stevo commented about how good the Saints sliding defence was but that was made to look all the beter from the lines that were being run at them which effectively made the job of defending relatively easy.

| Very good performance from Joel. We might not need to recruit a centre for next year.

I agree. Joel was also up against Lomax a lot of the time who is a very poor defender and who himself isnt really a centre which made things fairly easy for him in attack. I think Joel will always run strongly in the centre spot due to his size but he runs it more or less just the same as he would one position in at second row. I am still far from convinced in his decision making and is ability to draw a man and pass to his winger. Also the defence on the right looked very weak with him and Charnley and Saints got on the outside of them far too easily.

due to the half back not covering, thus bringing our defense inside. JT was against Meli wasnt he?

The times when Tomkins broke/made strong runs he was against Lomax.

| Thought Carmont was outstanding again today,if he carries on this kind of form for the remainder of the season then you would think that IL would offer him another 12 month deal

He would be an idiot not to, I think Carmont may wish to retire though

| George Carmont must rank as one of the best overseas signings the club has ever made.
What a professional this man is. He is at the wrong end of his career but seems to be in an indian summer at the moment. IL MUST offer him another 12 months. If George does want to retire the club should BEG him not to.
He is not the greatest ever centre to play for the club (though that's not a criticism when you think about the all time greats of RL who have played centre for Wigan, and in the mediocre Soopah Dooper League he is on present form one of the very best centres - in fact I haven't seen a better centre than him this season so far) but his attitude, work ethic and professionalism are second to none. Wigan legends should not simply be those players with superb natural gifts, legends should include players whose efforts in the Cherry and White epitomise the values of our great club. On that assessment George is a true Wigan legend.
