Correct me if I’m wrong here but going into the 2012 season we will only be able to carry 4 overseas players in the squad right?

That doesn't leave much room for Pat post 2011 as Hoffman should he decide to stay already has an extension ready to go.

So could next season be Pat’s last one with the club? He’ll only be 29 at the end of next season and I’m sure plenty of NRL and SL clubs will be taking a close look at the current MOS.

Irrespective of the quota, I think there's a fair chance Pat may move on at the end of the year especially now he's won the league with Wigan.

He'll have a number of tempting offers - probably including some from Union and the AFL / NFL.

IIRC he was the 10th best kicker in SL this year, % wise. He's nothing special with the boot.

He can boot a ball a fair distance though and with all NFL goals being straight on, his 'accuracy' shouldn't be that much of an issue.

He had quite a lot of kicks out wide % wise seeing we had two of the top try scorers plus Pryce and Roberts bagging on the wings? Under Noble his kicking was better " % wise of co".

i'm not sure who in our squad counts on the quota and who doesn't (if anyone does know i'd be interested to see who the quota players are), but i am pretty sure that nationality no longer matters, so EU passports and irish parents/grandparents are irrelevant, where a player is 'trained' is what decides if he is on the quota or not.

We're allowed 5 "overseas trained" players: Finch, Lima, Hoffman, Roberts and Phelps (if he stays).

Carmont and Richards don't count because they were here before the rule change, and Leuluai doesn't because he was SL trained (at Quins) as a youngster (ie under 21).
