I think it's wrong that Saints can't pick Leeds in Sunday's club call.
Leeds, who were lucky to finish fourth, had a good victory at Wigan but I don't think that should elevate them to an untouchable position.
On the other hand, Saints finishing second and having a great victory over Warrington don't get to choose, (what seems on paper), the weakest team, should Wigan and Warrington progress to the semis. Saints' reward is a local derby against one of the latter teams.
However, being a Wigan fan, I am very happy with the present situation even though I think it is wrong.
Should Hull K R beat Wigan tonight the above will not matter as Saints will pick the Robins.

Saints v Wigan in a semi-final in the last ever game at Knowsley Road is THE only way to send the old girl off BIGTIME.

It's more important that Saints finish with a win, whether they play Hull K R, Wigan, Warrington or Huddersfield. Wigan would be the icing on the cake but they will choose the team they consider the weakest. That may be Wigan.
However, I think they should be allowed to put Leeds, the team that has thwarted them at the last three Grand Finals, to the sword.
If there was no club call they would be paired with Leeds so how is the club call an advantage to Saints?

Saints will pick the lowest finishing team left that is available to be picked.

Going with home advantage from tonight, that'll be Wire.

I agree but my point is that Saints should be able to pick Leeds. Without club call they woulds be facing Leeds. Club call is supposed to be a reward but it is a poisoned chalice.

I think that is how the selection will pan out.

Their hearts will say Wigan, their heads will say Wire/Hudds, but I had a funny feeling when KC scored that try to get home advantage we might be playing there again.
In the cold light of day they would surely want Wigan and Leeds have a right ding dong because that's what it will be, there was plenty of unfinished business at the end of the game last week.
Whoever it is much happier after last nights performance we can still win the GF no doubt about it.

Leeds earned a home semi by beating us in rd 1. They're the rules end of. Saints would actually therefore play wire/hudds and not leeds.

Mcmanus dislikes clubcall end of. Stains will pick Hudds as they are the lowest ranked team. Hudds have just been in a hell of a battle so will be running on empty next week.

Stains will send Wigan to Leeds without doubt...............light the blue torch paper and stand back !

TBH i think they would have picked Wire had they got through but iam certain they will pick Huddersfield. They finished lower in the league, theyve just had a big battle and they will have a day less rest than us. No two ways about it we are deffo going to Leeds.

Stains will also declare that they have picked Hudds based on League positions as opposed to "We pick Hudds because we think they are the weaker team".

I see Leeds as the weakest (simply due to injuries before I get my head bitten off) and it must rile Stains that they cannot pick them.

Hudds are no mugs and will be hard to beat. Some defensive frailties crept in tonight though but to be expected at this stage of the season.

Also they would play oo friday so a short turnaround for huddersfield aswell

I was thinking the exact same thing. I also think (my opinion no inside knowledge) that if Stains could choose Leeds they would do. For the reasons as above.

I hope Saints pick us - I can make a Friday game but not Saturday.

Every team will pick the lowest placed team for the club call, which makes it a joke IMO.

No way on this earth would saints have picked leeds even if they could, leeds went to the DW and did a job on wigan with injuries.

Saints will pick hudds without a doubt, with all respect to hudds they are the "easy game" and im pretty sure saints won't be rile that they can't pick the current super league champs.

Had Wire won, I could see us picking Wigan.

As it stands, it'll be Hudds for sure.

If we can get past Hudds and Wigan past Leeds (neither of which are sure things by any stretch of the imagination), then Saints v Wigan at OT for KC's last match sounds right.
