| biggest waste of time going, all they created it for was so they could bring in a south Wales side, look how that has gone, what next? a scottish side from Edinburgh that ends up moving to Carlisle, give it a rest RFL and try and do something positive for the game, like raising the cap and cutting the quota to 3 overseas only, no exceptions, unless their parents where born here

These Magic (whacky LOL) weekends are just free jollies for the overworked, underpaid, under appreciated old boys club that perpatrates as the RLFC. New York next Year.

| I thought it was Cyril Smith at first! He could certainly do with being put on Madge's training routine. Don't know what it is about that bloke but he couldn't convince me that the grass is coloured green.

| a very uninspiring bloke I thought. Time to give 'magic' a rest after this year I think. It's been tried and IMHO it hasn't worked. The energies and finances can be chanelled elsewhere.

| I like the principle of the weekend but how can it be fair if Wigan are playing Huddersfield and Warrington are playing Salford? Maybe they should do it as a round of the CC. All the SL sides play each other and the ones left go in to the main draw.

| Agree with the thoughts about the C Cup.
The SL clubs should come in at the last 16 stage, so the 14 of them would be joined by two Championship clubs.
Have that as a Magic weekend. A whole round of the CC at one venue, eight games over two days. The BBC would have their two matches or more if they wanted. Perhaps bring SKY into the CC alongside the beeb.
We already have the CC semis and final at neutral grounds so why not the SL club's opening round?
Having it as it is now which is a 27th game is plain daft. We have a 14 team league where clubs play each other home and away making 26 games. Absolutely ideal. We do not need a 27th game.
Clubs, players and coaches have been going on for years about there being too many games causing player burnout. Then here's how to get rid of two games.
Stop the 27th game, the "Tragic" event, then cut out a round of the CC for SL clubs and bring them in at the last 16 stage.

| I almost wondered if they had worked it so that a well supported team played a less well supported opposition, i.e. Bradford v Crusaders, Hull v Harlequins, Salford v Warrington, Leeds v Wakefield, Castleford v Catalans , Wigan v Huddersfield and Saints v Hull KR. OK the theory doesn't entirely hold water before I get shot down but I did wonder when I saw the fixtures if they were trying to spread the crowd numbers as evenly as they could but they aren't the most exciting fixtures - no wonder Eddie said our game looks like being the pick of the fixtures but then maybe it is just cos he is hoping we will lose another game.
I'll get my coat!

players having a burnout after 32 games a season? what about before sl started when we had regal trophy, lancashire cup cc and premiership final? surely there was a lot more games then than there was now?
what we need to do is bring back these old competitions to give people a chance of winning silverware and teams who win league are the champions. no wonder the sport is getting laughed at.

Prior to SL the game was nowhere near as intense or professional.
The last thing we need to do is increase the games and the length of the season.
In an ideal world we would have 12 teams in the top flight along with the cup.

| rugby union do what?
Have a central contract system to ensure the top players are limited to a certain number of games a year, and have squads of 40 plus in a less intense competition, played on softer grounds in the winter?
Not sure where you are coming from on that comparison.

While that's probably true, our lads coped pretty well with 45 games per season in the 90's.
What was the grand slam record, played 45 won 43 or something like that?
