No, nothing at all to do with hooliganism! This is about setting up an Ultras scene to promote a bit of colour, passion and noise on the terraces in a similar fashion to Ultras groups on the continent and those which are increasing in popularity over here (e.g. see Aberdeen’s Red Ultras website. Even Accrington Stanley have their Stanley Ultras!)

We'd be looking at the production of new flags and banners, ideally with striking & original designs. Homemade or professionally made flags & banners, it doesn’t matter. The more the better.

If anyone is interested, give me a PM or if anyone has any ideas (including ‘no chance, it’s a non-starter!) put your ideas on here.

I’ve already contacted the club to see if they are interested in having any input although I suspect that something like this would work better away from home for various reasons.

I think its a great idea, there is something lacking and I am sure there are many loyal supporters who just need a catalyst to get the atmosphere going and this maybe it.

Personally think away matches are better for atmosphere and we need to target the JJB/DW

The club Marketting dept should jump on this idea!

The atmposphere at home games is very, very poor.

There needs to be some sort of official ''loud section'' in the East & South stands so that those who are keen on making some noise can do so with safety of knowing those next to them will be doing too. That's the problem with having an all seater, reserved seating stadium.

It's amazing how our away followings are so vocal, enjoyable, loud and full of songs yet our home followings are almost silent...Even though the exacty same people are in attendance plus more!

Get everyone sat together at the back of the East stand and we would make plenty of noise.

There is no point having 2 small groups of people in two different stands trying to make some noise.

It would make home games much more enjoyable and this could improve the attendances. I am not sure so many would go to Leeds every week if it was not so much fun in the south stand.

Fantastic idea, I know me and several others are looking at moving back to the South stand next season but sitting more into the corners at the back, not in the middle. If your gunna have lots of flags and banners etc it would look far better behind the sticks.

Lets rip it up in the West Stand.

Its a lot cheaper! AND im sitting nowhere near the middle.

Why limit it at 5,500 people singing when it could be over 8000 opposite the camera for every one to see, it would look great. If the east stand was full with everyone singing it would be great. It would be like the south stand is for Leeds but better.

It wouldn't work in the East as it's all reserved seating. The South is not.

Why does that matter

I am pretty sure that the Kop and Stretford end are both reserved.

Yeah but they all began as unreserved terraces.

Still doesn't matter if every wants to sing they will sing.

But not everyone does. So you need an unreserved area you can all gather in together.

I have never understood why people do not want to sing unless they are old and sit in the west stand.

The only song that gathers any momentum at home is the chanting of Wigan and finger pointing.

singing wise i agree an area should be set aside or promoted for singers, like at Bolton wanderers in Chav Corner, although I presume we would call our area the same.

The ultras thing is cringy, but the idea of a noisy/singing/flag section definitely gets my vote

I think setting up a singing and dancing section is just an open invitation for the p**sed up 14 year olds from the South stand to act more juvenile than usual.

To me, I go to the games to watch the game. I'm not really d about having 80 mins of singing "We're the greatest club in the world" and so on.

To be honest the south stand used to be like this anyway but its empty these days.
