| I saw the last 10 minutes flicking through the channels. I've just about stopped laughing now. Hopefully the papers, TV and radio will stop the wall to wall coverage now.

| That guy they call beast is quality, he runs it like feka and he is really quick and strong, he could play second row or prop easily in league.

| What a Peter Enis that O'Gara is!!
Gifted the game (and series to the Springbocks)
I thought they (Lions) actually did quite well, although they were destroyed by the set moves from SA.
Bit worrying that Edwards was defence coach though. They were seriously exposed in relation to the above.
O'Driscoll put himself about a bit but defensive wise, the rest were very average (the back 3 were laughable- make Mathers look like Dean Bell)
RU can be enjoyable in parts but ultimately the constant kicking is dull.

| Kearney, O'Driscoll and Jamie Roberts would be awesome in rugby league and are wasting their 'skills' playing Union.
I remember we made an enquiry about Jamie Roberts just before he broke into the Wales squad. It's such a shame we didn't manage to get him as he's be a sensation as a League centre. He's about 6ft 4, 17stone ish and quick.
As for that Botha he was cack! All he did was niggle and got took off.

Why would they want to play league though when they can get paid 4 times as much in union.

They obviously wouldn't and they wouldn't share the majorities view on here that Union is a boring game. It's in their blood so the money doesn't really matter anyway.
Celtic Crusaders will probably be able to pick up a couple of un-earthed gems from Welsh union in time.

| O'Driscoll would be superb in League.
Tough as anything, runs some great lines, great hands, good passing game, decent kicking game, can put in big hits and can take them too.
Don't know where I'd play him mind. Probably centre but his talents may be wasted out there. Maybe at 6.

| Signing Rugger Bugger backs is one thing but forwards - a lottery. Over the past ten years there have been very few who've gone on to achieve something of note - and they've tended to be South Sea islanders for obvious reasons.
It's the fitness that kills them. A Union second row or flanker is thought to have done well if he makes seven or eight tackles in a match. In league he'll be forced to make 4, perhaps 5 times as many. AND he's got to make anywhere between 15 to 25 hit-ups.
Perelini was a good prop for us (mainly because of his incredible fitness and physique). Fa'asavalu came completely out of nowhere. When Millward picked him up he knew a handful of English words and his fitness was questionable. Very few people gave him a chance but Millward showed great patience and Maurie himself poured his heart and soul into making a name for himself.
I've not seen much evidence to suggest that (barring the odd exception) union forwards are likely to be similarly motivated. Especially when there's far more coin in their own game for doing less.

Botha is too old, and is fooked, Kearney would be excellant in league, so to would be BoD, as well as Hook and Roberts. The beast is only 23 and used to be an 8 he would be good in league also. IMO

| Roberts the Lions centre. Big, strong and runs great lines. He would definately make a top centre.
The lions full back was also very good, took every high ball with ease, reminded me of Hampson, and ran the ball back very well.
The winger was also very good Boyle.
I wouldn't bother risking any of the forwards and tey play a completely different game anyway.

| It's a pointless exercise. You may as well watch the first Ashes test and work out which England fast bowlers would be worth signing becuase there is as much chance of them coming to League. Someone good enough to be a British Lion in Union will be about as attracted by the chance of signing for and possibly failing in League as they will be by a two week holiday in Iraq

Rob Kearney was the full back and definitely agree he'd be an asset to any RL team - awesome under the high ball
The winger is Tommy Bowe

| Why would any player move from a big sport like RU to RL for a pittence when they can earn millions playing infront of packed stadiums all over the world !
Most of the south african pack are miles better that most forwards in super league such as bakkies, matfield and schalk.
