Not a chance mate, passport will have been surrendered as a matter of course. Hope the RFL now take the stance and if conviction stands, then deregister him asap.

What a plonker. If he had admitted this from the off it may well not have got so serious given he is still living with his girlfriend who he assaulted and she sent a letter pleading for leniency.

Seems to me the injured party here is the Aussie judicial system that has taken a very dim view of him trying to blame someone else.

On a serious note though at least they seem to have a judiciary over there that isnt a joke, and a penal policy not based on the fact that the prisons are full so decriminalise and reduce the severity of crimes. If bird had done that over here he'd get Community Sevice at the most.....and if pryce and reardon were aussies they'd be both rightly banged up for 2 years!!!
