Sometime last year IL or MH came out and said we were after joining uo with an NRL club and one of the things which would happen would be the loaning of our young players like Mossop, Flanagan, Pryce to them rather than to other superleague, NL or playing in the reserves. Likewise they would loan some of their young players to us.

What has happened about it?

Surely that would work in our favour when signing young amateur players with the prospect of going to Australia playing for an NRL club.

Also the prospect of a future Sonny Bill, Billy Slater or Greg Inglis on loan to us and going back and playing origin and for Aus Im sure they would come back towards the end of their career too if they enjoyed it.

Not heard anything but i think its a great idea. Dont Leeds have something similar with Wests which is how Ellis has gone out for 2/3 seasons?

It was mentioned as a idea but I'm not sure if we've been actually looking into it or not.

Souths are a personal wish, but in terms of stature it would have to be Brissie

Yeah Leeds and Souths have a partnership.

Dave Taylor has signed for Souths for next year anyway.

Out of all the NRL clubs I would probably go for Brisbane, they get all the best Queensland juniors so I personally would go for them for the partnership.

It was me who suggested it at the very first fans forum. I asked again at the next one and have asked IL about it when he was in Sydney.

Aren't Leeds linked with Souths and thats why they played the game in America last year? could be way off with that.

With the history between the clubs i'd say Brisbane would be side it'd be great for us to link up with.

A spell playing over in Australia for their reserve grade team would do wonders for the likes of Mossop/Farrell/Thornley etc.

im pretty sure there's some kind of link, but i don't think it's anything like a player loan/swap deal.

Given the way Jordan Tansey is on loan t the Roosters I would suggest there is no player link up agreement.

He has a few games in the NRL under his belt now, seems to be going ok to be fair to the lad.

Yeah in all seriousness Tansey never really had a run in a position at Leeds and thats never easy.

Depends on what the NRL club see as being more beneficial to their players?

We get our youngsters trained by the likes of Bennett but are the Aussie's going to get playing experience over here in our first team or just be sat in the stands?

If it's the latter they might as well just play Toyota Cup every week - it's of a much higher standard than our equivalent and more competitive.

That said the thought of having a player like Karmichael Hunt over here as a 17yo makes me want a Brisbane link up even more, though the minute it appears he's tearing up the park I'm sure he'd be on the first plane back to Queensland.
