Probably, he is class.

Not sure why he is not in the reserves. Maybe Rogues or someone attends alot of the reserve/acadamy games can explain? Do we have quality in the centres at reserve level?

He has played 6 of the 9 reserve games (starting 3 of the 6).

John Walker has been very steady at reserve level and Steffan Marsh is showing very good signs, he was excellent today, so there is probably no need to rush Thornley and therefore keep a better balance to the two lower grade sides.

That's a great win for the academy against the previously unbeaten HKR side.

Thornley was brilliant when I saw him against Hudds reserves. He is huge for his age but he is still only 17-18 I think so give him another year or 2 before we even think about giving him a game in super league.

Maybe next season if we get a seriously easy game in the challenge cup, players like him may get to play in the first team, but not too soon, although I am confident with his size it wouldnt be long before he could compete with the physical side of first team level.

surely it would be an idea to use some of the money freed up with the exit of some of the 'big names' to tie these young lads down.

Went along to the academy game yesterday and have to say your team is the best ive seen this season by a margin. The lad Thornley looks something special.

They haven't put the Hull v Wire Academy score into that so they may not be top of the academy - but if not they'll put it right next weekend!

Hull won so Wigan are still top.
