I really can't decide where I lie on this.
Half of me is glad he wasn't out there last night, he is a quality player no doubt, but it was a brutal game with everyone smashing everyone else and I'm glad he wasn't involved. I'm not saying he couldn't handle it but still I'd rather him miss one game than the rest of the season because Fozzard decide to crunch him or something.
On the other hand, we missed someone who could put a few steps on and just get over the line, Smith can't do it, he probably averages one carry a game. Sam I think would have been the best chance for that.
IMO we got in an arm wrestle and we won, but we didn't know where to go from there. We needed to batter the forwards, we did it, their pack was very quiet tonight and credit to our forwards for that, but we really lacked idea's close to the line. Would Sam have provided idea's?
