After the game today we went into the Wakefield store, to avoid a heavy rain shower as much as anything. Basically it is a rather large portacabin but it sells a really decent range of clothes and accessories.

Now without wanting to offend Wakefield fans if a smaller club than us can have a good range of merchandise why can't we?

It is a totally missed opportunity imo and must cost the club a lot of money in lost revenue.

After taking on a new bloke from Burnley at the start of the year why are things still really no better than they were?

Same here. Looking around at the game today, loads of Wiganers had Wigan branded clothes, not just the replica shirts.

I do, why is most of our merchandise black and grey?

I mean the coats, hoodies and stuff. The terraces look black when they should be a mixture of cherry and white merchandise.

Rainjackets, drill tops, hoodies, fleeces, hats, scarfs etc should be cherry or white or both.

Our merch has improved 10000% in the last couple of years. Maybe not all of it is to everybodys tastes but the rquality is much much better and the range leaps and bounds better thought out.

I agree that the merchandise has gone up in standard and variety over the last couple of years, but we really need a club shop to sell it in

The gear may be good, but the marketing of it seems poor - and a crappy hut behind the south stand isn't the answer! If irregular fans see a club shop, then they may buy something, but one stall in the middle of nothing isn't what's required here. Other clubs manage it, so why can't we?

Potentially the only issue I would agree.

However, im willing to state (with no certainty) that the blue/red & grey/black stuff sells better than C&W coloured stuff.

I'd say it's probably a fashion issue. I think people are more likely to buy the plain coloured things to wear whilst out and about in their normal clothes.

The problem with Kooga is that the supply the same designed rainjackets, drill tops, hoodies, fleeces to all the clubs the supply all they do is change the badge.

The club are making great strides in the merchandise avenue, and the current items for sale get better by the week.

IL & Co are doing a great job on all fronts, but please do a Traditional cherry 'n' white hooped rain jacket, it would sell superbly and would be used on a regular basis by anyone in the UK..

Speaking of merchandise, they should have a word with Micron. It's so difficult to get your hands on videos/dvds of classic Wigan games. The club could make a killing on this front.

Man U and Liverpool have red jackets and tracksuits etc so why can't we, we shouldn't change ours colours because they don't fit into everyday life. Our merchandise should be our team colours.

We should have different colours. A tracksuit in either blue, red or black. Polo shirts in either blue, red, black etc etc

The training gear from last year with the cherry and white training tops were great and the majority should be team colours. A white jacket would probably look naff but the Liverpool merchandise looks great in red.

There's no doubt that the clothing side of the merchandise has improved 100% with the Kooga deal. Take the clothing away though and the remainder of the merchandise still needs a lot of work and is embarrassing when you look at the size of the club and its fan base.

We need a shop at the ground not just some trailer like we have now, we need somewhere you go in and look round match/none match day. I dont if this as been mentioned before why not put some merchandise inside the central park tesco that way people can buy iteams at any time of the day as most fans are in work during the week and find it hard to get to the club shop opening hours,what kind of multi millon pound bussines still closes at lunchtime wednesday.

Not a lot of Wigan fans would go in there though (myself included)

i used to go central park when we played there and i shop there, why has the sale of cental park still left a bitter taste in peoples mouths,it wasnt tescos fault we had to sell our ground.

last time i tried to contact micron about a game it took em so long to get back that i had already borrowed one and copied it.
its practically impossible to find what you want on their website.

so i reckon its time the club looked around for another company .

Not a chance, I find it hard enough to look at the tesco as it gives me a lump in me throat, will never set foot on that site even if it meant breaking down and walking to the nearest petrol station instead of using that tesco.
