| Whats everyone think about this fella?
When we signed him, I admit I got abit excited thinking a big back, Noble style back in a way and someone who the opposition will fear.
Unfortunately, due to constant injuries he hasnt made the grade as of yet. But now he is getting back to fitness hopefully, well he is meant to be trying to he doesnt seem to be putting the effort in on the pitch half of the time.
Me and my mate watched him closely today, He was the lazy one within the warm up, he came out on the pitch behind a subsitute (he cant even be bothered making the first 13 out of the dressing rooms), he was last off at half time limping, and last off at full time.
He doesnt seem to run with any conviction, and to be honest all their tries came down his side, hence the reason we BN brought Goulding on as we needed a bit of pace down that side.
Now im all for giving KP a chance to shine and find full fitness after such a long lay off for injury. I understand it will be hard to find some sort of full fitness straight away, but he needs more fitness than what he currently as, because as showed today, he is a liabilty in both attack and defence.

He was very slow when on the wing and got clattered by a Barrow player thats when he started to limp. But he played on looked better when he went to still not fit and i think his foot is still causing a few problems for him think he needs a season in the reserves then see how he go's after that he should make a decent for next year.

| I didn't see the 3 try-saving tackles - I was at the other end of the pitch from most of you guys.
I have to say that my impression yesterday was that he was f***ing useless.
Maybe a little harsh, but this lad should be running through/over the opposition, not wandering aimlessly and then limping to cover up when things go wrong.
Has anyone else noticed that the instant he misses a tackle, drops the ball, throws a poor pass or whatever - He starts limping again. It's like an automatic reaction.
Sorry, but 12 months in the reserves for mine. Let's see if he has improved by next year (unless we desperately need him to cover injuries). If he's still the same, get shut.

| He was hot and cold.
The few breaks they made were sometimes down to Pryce, but there was also a couple of occaisions where he showed speed and agility to come across, chase and make a couple of superb tackles.
In attack he was ok, he seemed powerful and dangerous when attacking the line. He was suprisingly elusive at times as well.
It's very easy to label Pryce as lazy, slow, lethargic etc. but IMO he has shown improvement. It's his first season back after a year out, he isn't fully fit yet, he hasn't had alot of game time and it's not clear where he will play and if you take into account what I've mentioned, he's doing fine and is showing improvement.
I'm willing to stay patient.

I agree. I just think we're going to have to patient with him, which unfortunately is not something Wigan fans in general are not. They would rather criticise.
He made three really important tackles yesterday, but with ball in hand was less than impressive. I'll reserve judgment until later in the season.
Work in progress.

| Did nothing yesterday to suggest he will be in the first team any time soon.
It was an opportunity to show his class against lesser opposition (no disrespect to Barrow intended) but i'm afraid, for a man of his size, he offers little to the squad at the moment.
Very disappointing.

| i thought out of all the players on the pitch; super league and non-super league, pryce looked for worse. everytime he ran the ball up he lacked agression and looked like he really couldnt be bothered. he just isn't a winger. James Nixon (barrows winger) seemed to swirve and step around him with ease, i think 99% of us on this forum could accelerate quicker off the mark than KP does. I am willing to give him time, but i really cant see where he is going to fit in to the wigan team?

The club should sign you up as a talent scout if you can judge how his career is gonna pan out after two first team games! Amazing talent you seem to have
Makes me laugh how narrow minded and how short term some Wigan fans are. Many of these people now writing him off were the ones claiming he’d never even play for the club.
Give the guy time FFS

| A good call by Rogues. The worst aspect of the team at the moment is the defensive frailty up the middle. Pryce made some excellent tackles on players on the half break yesterday, more than once saving the blushes of colleagues who had missed the player and belied his 'lazy' image. He seemed to grow in confidence the more the game went on yesterday and was certainly better in the second half. He does need more game time and I think it will certainly be some time before he's 100% but given our pending 3/4 line I am more than happy to have a player of Pryce's potential and calibre as our first reserve.

| He wasn't exactly a work horse at Bradford so unless he has a major change of character I don't think he'll change that much, apart from getting more match fit and a bit sharper.
Leon, love or hate (check) the guy certainly works hard and is in the game most of the time!

Ok he wasnt amazingly bad against barrow; but put him against a team like saints or leeds with backs such as gidley or senior running at him, then we will be able to see the extent of his lazyness and inability to compete.

| he was good in defence yesterday but he does look extremely lethargic in attack.
i definately prefer him at than on the wing to be honest, we just need to get his fitness up to a decent level because he at bradford was a major threat with ball in hand, and he should be with his size.

He picked up noticeably when moved to centre. He's not a winger and doesn't look comfortable there.

| All i can say is thank fook we are getting gleeson because Bailey and Pryce are just shocking. Shocking. Bailey wasnt even good in defence yesterday and as usual did nothing in attack. Pryce i will give time because of obvious reasons but i think a stint on loan would be the best option!
On the other hand i thought Goulding did well on the wing his defence was good and he is actually quite quick, i just dont see where he can get into the team anymore bar injurys

| Karl Pryce will always be labeled a lazy player, as that is just the way he is, you would however hope that after so long out, he would be raring to go and wanting to show what he can do.
However his apparent attitude, is a big problem for the team as a whole. If anyone not read Noble's comments on the website i suggest they do, as according to him we again had the wrong attitude again yesterday! I dispair!

| I didn't see his try saving tackles either but I didn't have the best of views.
He just seemed lazy to me and doesn't really used his size in attack. And he never seems to jump for bombs either which really annoys me, if he did he'd be about 5 foot clear of everyone else.
Was it my imagination as well or did he get a few boos from the Wigan fans as he went off at the end?
