I only signed up to setanta so that I could watch the NRL, I got a freeview box for Christmas with a 3 month "free" trial. So I saved it untill march, set it up and set my alarm for half 8 on saturday. Only to find that it wasn't even on! The channel was in "closedown" and doesn't start untill Lunchtime on a sat.

I was not amused, and was told that they couldn't start broadcasting because some shopping channel had the rights. It all seemed a bit vague, and to be honest, if they had told me this before I had paid the connection fee, then I doubt I would have bothered!

Its a disgrace, I wouldnt even buy Shetanta shports if it weren't for the NRL, one games on this week Im livid! Im gutted its been cut down from 3 to 2 and now theyre only showing one, no chance I shall email them asap.

Done - very angry about this. Only just resubscribed for the start of the season, so have to put up with it for three months minimum. I take it they've dropped the 9 game which is always one of the better ones and kept the Fox game? They must be paying peanuts for that game compared to the number of people who have setanta soley for NRL.

Why the hell did they even bother paying for the rights if they're only going to show 1 game? Aaaah well, this has helped me decide not to bother getting Sky and stick to my alternative sources of top class Rugby League action.

I know a bloke at work who literally only just got it 2 weeks back with the sole intent of watching the NRL on it and is paying an extra 11quid a month for it yet now he'll only be getting one game per week instead of the 2 or 3 he signed up for.

3 of us in our house have all e-mailed complaining and said we will cancel subscription if it is only showing 1 game a week. they'll reply in 5 days. As if setanta isn't poor enough already without cutting the best thing on it down to one game per week.

my grandad got it free for a while on offer, but once the rugby season had finished he got rid.
i've never really been won over by setanta and with them now putting the magners league ahead of the nrl, well i can't see how i'd get it back.

am i missing something here, i subscribe to setanta and have sky+ the live friday morning for the last two weeks. I didn't get a shopping channel.

As much I as I love the NRL there is no way I would subscribe to Setanta to watch it.

Last year we only had freeview and subscribed to Setanta, but it was not made clear beforehand that you only got Setanta 1 and even then only from 12pm. So after missing loads of games as they did not even come on the right channel on rerun I cancelled with them, which is easier said than done believe me.

Now we have sky and would love to see some NRL as well, but not through Setanta.

Setanta is going to be gone by the years out-so I would presume the NRL will return to Sky.

I don't understand this as it isn't as if they clash. Not many Magners games are kicking off at 08:30/09:30 on a Fri/Sat or Sun. Very Odd. I suspect more to do with the £10 mill they have just had to stump up to the FA for the soccer, apparantly got behind in payments & missed a deadline, than anything to do with the Celtic Onion.

Get the Origin series out the way and anta is gone
