| thats what we want to see !!
this is what the bulk of the fans have been calling for tonight , brute force combined with expansive rugby
not seen the game on tv yet , but from my view fron the stand not many were at fault , it looked to be a TEAM performance , all round good footy
maybe the sky + version will show something differnt , but qhy cant we play this kind of stuff every week ? im not d if we get beat if we play that style of rugby
your thoughts?

| Got to agree, we played with a bit of flair tonight and it was a joy to watch. Proper rugby as you put it.
My only worry is how long will it last? If we can play like that all year - unlikely - we'll be right up there come playoffs time. If we get smashed next week, it will be all doom and gloom again!
My series link on Sky+ failed so I'm waiting for the 12.30 re-run now

| I said on another thread we were really entertaining, if we lose next week to Leeds away I wont care if we play just like we did tonight, but then again playing like that no many teams will beat us.

| Everyone around me was commenting on the quality of Rugby played.
Very fast thinking and passing with few dropped.
The quality has improved as has the team. Also it isn't freezing cold anymore.
Already looking forward to next week.

| We was playing some good rugby, but I think what was more obvious was that we had a solid game plan and the players stuck to it all through the game.
I bet Deacon feels like he got hit by about 10 busses this morning. Every time we play Bradford Nobby seems to know that if you run at Deacon it will cause big problems, it's happened over the past and it happened alot last night, Gaz Hock was outstanding in doing this.

| I said after the game to my mate that Nobles 'simple' gameplan could be very effective aslong as you have a couple of flair players in your team that can produce bits of magic.
I think in S Tomkins we have a lad capable of doing that whilst running a game. He looks to have everything to his game. We still played a pretty safety first game last night but the difference to previous weeks was that everytime we went wide to either Tomkins, Leuluai or Hock we had massive threat.

| Is it just me or was Carmont playing a Stand Off-like role at some points last night?
He seemed to be all over the pitch, and he was involved in that old fashioned run around early on and regularly alongside Bailey on the other side of the pitch.

He was superb last night Carmont. To me he looks to be trying to take more on his shoulders by getting himself involved.
In terms of value for money Carmonts got to be one of if not the best signing we've made in superlague.

Definately. I thought, in a great team effort, he really stood out and looked class. Also I thought he looked very young and energetic for someone whos 30, I know he only started playing late but I think he might end up playing a good few years still yet (hopefully at Wigan)

| We held on to the ball well and were a lot more disciplined which is good to see.
We played fast coherent rugby league and looked a lot more organised in attack and defense. I also noticed a lot of communication amongst the squad as well which is good to see.
Much better Wigan now we have to try to remain consistant week in week out.

| It's been a long while since we've seen that much quality for the whole 80. I thought Carmont was outstanding as was Sam Tomkins. Phil Bailey was on fire in defence, his tackle count must have been extremely high.
Great game!

| No idea where that performance came from. The lack of quality from Bardford helped, but we haven't seen attacking rugby of that quality in years, it was a million times better than what we saw vs Quins.
Piggy's distribution, and the fact that we are so strong down the left hand side meant we were able to run over Bradford last night.
If we play that like every week, I'd be happy even if we lost, though that said, if we [ido[/i play like that every week we won't lose many.
Attacking rugby; love it!

| To be fair, we have seen glimpses of a more expansive style of play in the past 3 matches, but only in very short spells.
Last night was the first time we combined that with an aggressive defence and applied it throughout the game.
Nobby said in post match that we stuck to the game plan last night which seems to indicate that this is how he has been coaching them to play - and not in fact the one out 5 drives and a poor kick we've been seeing.
Key factors last night:
1) Dummy runners & support - In the past 5 years, I have never seen wigan play with so much off the ball support.
2) attitude: Aggressive and positive from start to finish.
3) Defence: Moved up much quicker, agressive and no obvious weak spots out wide - unlike the first 3 matches.
4) Kicking Game: Far better kicking game, Pat put in some good long kicks, Piggy some nice kicks for Ainscough to chase and Sam, all kicked well. First time in a very long time.
5) Pace - we finally seem to have pace all over the team and can break from deep. Amos is fast and runs in hard - no going sideways from him, he always runs straight and tries to break teh tackle.
