was going to start this topic off my self just read on the wire board all about it

So it must be true or why else would they get rid of the topic there was at least 8 pages with names etc..

It's either Hanley on board somehow or Lowes sacked.

He'll probably be happy to go there now that it's nearly 20 years since Les Boyd left them. That's the price you pay for having idiots like Boyd involved with your club (and for thinking he's wonderful).

Bobbie Goulding was talking about the appointment of a former GB captain as no.2 for the French National Side, on Boots 'n' All.

He mentioned that this player won trophy after trophy. Could this be Hanley?

Hanley's being rumoured with regards to a potential appointment at Warrington. I thought I'd make a post regarding what was said on Boots 'n' All. I'm possibly putting 2 and 2 together to get 5 but I thought there was a chance it could be Hanley as France's no.2 and therefore would not be appointed at Warrington. It was just a thought.

Moran is big palls with Hanley, if Wire get a good coach they could very well win the thing.

Its refreshing to see a club with ability and potential that is underachieving looking to do something about it.

The problem at Wire, and the same wherever there is a club underachieving these days in my opinion cannot be sorted with a straight change of coach. There are clearly players there with apalling attitudes and they will have contracts that go on for another 2, 3 years. You can take over, put all that you think is good in place but be forced to play either the same players or alternately a load of college leavers who aren't ready. Wires problems, like Wigans, will take years to fix whoever is in charge.

That way they will perform well for a couple of games (as is normal with a new coach) then drop off and win bugger all again.


It will also stop the nonsense on here calling for Hanley to be coach.

I have to disagree, i can see where you are coming from, and i would not expect them to become a force of nature overnight but given the current system they do not have to.

A good coach, probably an NRL experienced coach i think could turn them around pretty quickly, its all about bringing the best out of your players, and while there may be bigger issues regards the culture that would take longer to sort they have the playing staff that if a good coach came in and took control could be a very good side.

They are nowhere near in the mess that we were in a few years ago regards the sallary cap and contracts, something that in my opinion has not really been improved with the recruitment of Fielden (although you could argue he was essential at the time), Phelps and Mathers contract extentions.
