| i would not want to be a Welsh player in the dressing room after the game. Edwards looked very angry as they played below what they can. Though a win is a win Wales can be much better.

italy are a way off the other 5 despite what the bbc, rfu and other pro-union voices will tell you.
scotland and to a lesser extent, england have gone backwards. for me it will be between ireland and wales this year.
fingers crossed for the irish

| I know Edwards is primarily a defence coach with Wales, but you can tell in their attack that there are a few RL influences in there, as you can with Wasps.

edwards and union folk have openly admitted this.
my heart says i'd love to have edwards in charge of us but my head keeps screaming 'he's got no rugby league coaching experience!'
cut his teeth at another club first? would he do it? he obviously still has a passion for rugby league and in particular wigan, but i think it would be the wigan job and only the wigan job that would tempt him back.

I think if it ever did happen he would come back as Assistant to somebody first then eventually step up. Although it is different in Union he has made it public on more than a few occasions he is not interested in the top job he just wants to be in the coaching team.

I'm not convinced. He's got to earn a living and 'Wigan through and through' or not, if Union will pay him more, he'll stay where he is. It's only what anyone else would do.

im sure that being in union he easily 'earns a living'.
i would be surprised if he really need that extra 50k a year or whatever it is.
if we have a dodgy year and noble is replaced then it would be the perfect time to bring in edwards or dare i say it farrell as an assistant as -neil- said.

| As well as Edwards is doing in Union he isn't doing it all alone.
At Wasps he has Ian Mcgeechan as his Director of Rugby who is a top coach and Gatland as Head coach of Wales who is another top notch coach.
Anyone who thinks Edwards could come in as Head coach at Wigan and change the fortunes immediately is a bit off the mark imo.

| The clips of Edwards during the six nations he seems entranced with the game as if he is on the pitch taking every hit and making every tackle such passion from a coach not seen as this from anyone else, Gatland next to him seems very calm and just taking the game in. Do you need a calm coach? I’d rather have one filled with passion and a desire to win at all costs.

Seriously, stop dreaming. Just stop.
Edwards is not coming to Wigan. He's happy, he's coining it, his job is nowhere near done yet and he's a professional. There is one reason to come to Wigan, and a million to stay where he is.

I seem to remember when Noble was appointed shortly after the press mentioned his name being linked to wigan and his reply was something along the lines of he was glad he was never officially approached as he would have found it too dificult to turn down.
Regards Wales i think although he clearly has been a major influence people neglect the impact Warren Gatland has had and his ability,
People like Gatland surround themselves with quality people and that in turn makes them look better and there job easier.
Much of the skill of a coach in my opinion is down to the ability to select there support staff and surround themselves with quality support.

| When we spoke to Offiah last year at an evening dinner, Offiah told us Edwards is not far away from him near Chiswick, and Edwards is settled there and will be for the future because of the contact with his son.

| I don't think it's any coincidence that where Edwards has been 'successful' Gatland has been the head coach. Gatland is the mastermind. Edwards is good and if Noble did leave he would be my preferred choice as a replacement but lets not overstate his achievements in RU.

| It's too big a risk for me, swapping one of the most successful coach in SL for a bloke who hasn't been involved in RL for years seems madness on paper. We've only lost a few games, no need for sweeping changes in my opinion.

Totally agree, if Edwards was going to come I would much prefer it to be at the start of pre season so he could get to know the squad and the staff around him.

| I had to laugh last night when one of the Welsh players was being interviewed.
Interviewer " There's a lot of singing coming from your dressing room"
Welsh player "It's the old Shaun Edwards classic, Saturday Night at the Movies"
It took me back to the Challenge Cup homecomings at Central Park.

Noble [iwas[/i one of the most successful coaches. Past tense. Games aren't won on paper either. I'd swap Noble for Edwards in a heart beat.
Quote We've only lost a few games, no need for sweeping changes in my opinion.'"
It's over two seasons of dross not two games. I am rapidly coming to the opinion any other coach in SL or NL1 could get us playing better RL with the team we have got. If we don't show more than one man RL this Friday then regardless of the result it won't be good enough IMO.
Doubt we could get Edwards if Noble went at this time but I would think if he did come we would see an instant change in the style of play and isn't that what is required? Results would then follow IMO.
Dave
