I agree, but it's inevitable that RL folk will resent it when someone like Offiah - who owes everything he has to RL - starts looking to send RL players to RU.

Sure, it's all about money. But British RL can ill-afford to lose any more players, particularly from its star ranks, which are threadbare as it is. People like Offiah and Andy Clarke expect us to understand that they must get the best deal possible for their clients. In turn, they must understand why we hate them for deliberately weakening our game.

As far as I'm aware they don't force the players to leave, they just provide them with the options out there.

Agents aren't forcing good young players to leave, it's clubs thinking they can take the p*ss with young players salaries and not paying them their worth which makes them want to leave.

Both players and agents want to make money. No problem there at all. They need to live.

But agents who advise their players to go to Union are still damaging RL. Sorry if this truth hurts them. But they can't have it both ways. If they send their players to Union - which many of them seek to do, because there is more money there - they are going to be disliked in League. End of.

For the record, those players who opt to go are guilty of the same thing. Though at the end of the day they are usually young men, or even lads, who are acting on the advice of their agents, who they see as mentors, father figures, etc. I had an agent, and I very rarely went against his advice.

So for me, the agents are slightly more guilty.

I can see why they do this. I understand it. But I still don't care. As a die-hard RL fan, I bitterly resent anyone, whatever their reason, who damages RL. Sorry, but that's all there is to it.

I can see teams just flying at him at every opportunity and Big Willie being at the disciplinary every couple of weeks.

I hope the move comes off because it'll bring some publicity to the game over here and will just make for a more interesting league. The games against Catalans will be looked forward to even more then before which is great.

It would make our third home game of the season very interesting, and from IL's point of view very marketable.

Les Catalans recruitment of overseas players have been very good - Dallas Johnson, Greg Bird, Mogg, Stacey Jones etc. I don't think we will see Willie Mason in Super League, but if Catalans could pull it off (somehow) it would give the profile of Super League and Les Catalans a big boost.

if you want someone to blame concerning players going union blame the rfl for keeping the salary cap down or even some small financial clubs.
