A player can be charged at a later date even if a Penalty was awarded on the day etc.

And how on earth can someone equate that giving a penalty for an offence on the day Equate to getting 2 matches at the review stage if not seen!

well that makes the lack of consistency worse then....if its been penalised , then the player should be up on charge.
if its an offfence worth a ban...then why the fook arnt every player who was penalised on the mat?

unless they look at it and decided the ref was wrong??

in which case they need follow NFL challenge rule.....ie........to be overturned there must be IRREFUTABLE EVIDENCE.

That's why I'm bringing this up, there were 1/2 dozen plus penalties for chicken wings over the weekend, afik not one charged by the beak?

Lima got a one game ban for each incident - The club could actually appeal twice if they wanted, however the politic thing to do would be to appeal for the one that didn't look as bad and claim the punishment isn't reflected by the fact the worse incident got a one game ban as well, hoping just for a warning and a fine so he can play in the WCC.

The good news is that an ex-Wigan player is on the appeal panel tomorrow.

The bad news is that it's Nathan McAvoy.

I remember the Sia Soliola incident vividly. I said it was a chicken wing tackle right there and then. He deserves a one match ban for that as far as I'm concerned. As Cherry said it is a cowardly act, the bloke should know better.

HOWEVER, I saw nothing undue about the Jon Wilkin "incident" and neither did the referee. Now I admit I've not been able to watch it back, but I remember looking on the sky replays and seeing nothing. In fact, IIRC Eddie and Stevo said they couldn't see anything either - I might be wrong. But if we're going to appeal, I would appeal that one, because I saw nothing undue there at the time or after watching the sky replays.
