Not a chance. The odd one maybe, like Gildart's and Clubb's, but the vast majority must be down to our conditioning/training. They've been too frequent over the past 2 seasons for it not to be, and it seems like it's getting worse.

Well, on a purely statistical level, we have (before tonight) 90 pens which is only bettered by Wire with 89 (with Salford on 100). Yes, we go in hard. But I'd argue it's much more controlled, and other coaches don't or can't match it, thus swinging arms, chicken wings etc. are more common, leading to more mistakes and injuries, accidental or otherwise.

The issue with Gelling seems to be they need to scan him again. It's sounds like they know it'll be at least back end of the season before he's back but want to check again before ruling him out until next year.

It's difficult to say with long term injuries though isn't it? Depends on how quickly they recover

There will be no choice but for Lockers to play sadly. He'll be at stand off but that still leaves us short of anyone to play scrum half.

It's either a 17/18 year old from the 19's or I presume a senior pro like Joel Tomkins, McIlorum or Liam Farrell. I'm racking my brains for options and none are jumping out. Maybe Ganson at 7?

The only other hope is Powell makes a miraculous recovery but rumour has it he's done for a month or so or Gregsons facial injury isn't as bad as first feared.

Powell done for season broke his ankle in 3 places.. well that's what he told my mate in cherry tree Saturday night.
