If Tommy does go then I hope we get a transfer fee for him.
I'd be passing that fee straight onto Hull KR for Dobbo as well.

Yeah, this a little more worrying as he is still in contract till Nov 2012.
Any out of contract players wishing to return/try out NRL I have no issues with.

| The Tommy stuff if true is when the Madge issue could turn a little nasty, hopefully its all speculation. If Tommy left id be happy with Dobson as his replacement, leaving us to sign a hooker as well to partner McIllorum.

Losing Tommy would be a bit of a double-whammy, as it strikes both at our halfback strength and our hooking strength.
Currently I'm treating all this as newspaper talk, but I agree, if Maguire attempts to lure a Wigan player while he's still mid-contract, that will definitely tarnish his image in my eyes.
Souths don't seem to be doing too well luring Australia-based talent. I wonder why?

I think its clear to see for anyone who uses Twitter. Madge apparently values the privacy with which IL treats club issues. I wonder if he knows what he has let himself in for.
If we could replace Tommy with a good 7 & 9 and still secure a centre, id be fairly happy. I would prefer to lose Finch and recruit a 1, 3 and 7 however.

What a ridiculous thing to say.
Whilst Finch hasn't set the world on fire he's still not been half as bad as some make out.
He's getting better week in and week out.
Some Wigan fans just have no clue.

It really is pathetic isn't it.
We have a quality half back getting pelters from fans and IMO the most dangerous fullback in the league on his day, who has been shouted at to 'bugger off home, he's useless' numerous times.
Crazy

| Champion is discussing terms with Titans, same with Myles. The Tommy to Souths rumour is hotting up, supposedly his brother is moving back to NZ/Aus and stated he's heading back with Tommy.

Neither are plating regularly so Finch is the target. If Finch doesn't play then we can aim all our bile at Lima again. If finch doesn't play and Lima is suspended then the abuse will move on to Hansen, and so on.....

Nice to see him come out and make comment on the situation.
He's such an important player for us and we need him here long term to kick on.

measured response there priestman...
i just think in terms of value for money and in the position he's playing in we could do better blooding mellor.
we dont 'need' finch as such at the minute - we already have gf winning players in his position. why not be blooding mellor slowly so that we can push him into the frame when deacs goes? cheaper and more effective in long term. mellor may not be up to it but we wont find out if we dont give him a go...
i dont think he's been shocking and im not making him a scapegoat i just dont think we need him - fich this is. if he's flirting with a move back to oz then let him go

Good to hear. It's obviously always better when a player comes out to stop rumours.
I'm looking forward to seeing Tommy becoming a world class 9 in a Wigan shirt. Madness to think he's still only 25.

| So that's rumours about Richards firmly knocked on the head.
Tommy says he;s staying at least until the end of 2012. As for Kiwi ambitions, he's won the World Cup and Four Nations with them whilst at Wigan. Being here doesn't stop him playing for the Kiwis.
I'll bet Finch will see his contract out.
Right! Who's next?

We need another half or a fuill back to replace deacon if sam moves back to 6 and a centre to replace gleeson / george.
I still think carmont may shelve retirement plans though.
As for amos, we need to release him and free up a wedge from our salary cap

Completely agree about Roberts. Yes he was explosive last year, but I prefer Charnley now as he is more driven IMO. IL has to talk to George and tell him retirement isn't an option. You can't lose two international centres from your team in one year.

In terms of depth we have Joe Mellor and Sam Powell, but in terms of pure quality and experience then Deacon definitely does need replacing. I want to see Leuluai move to 9 next season with McIlorum and for us to sign a top class halfback. With Roberts not picking up form, Sam Tomkins to stay at 1.
