| Keighran will be banned, absolutely no doubt about it. It was very marginally worse than Matt Moylan’s on Field and he just got a fine, so no grumbles with a one game ban but they should kick up over anything further. Dupree will be banned as well and rightfully so. How you lose your head like that with a week to go to a major final is beyond me.
It’ll be a great chance for Eckersley and Hill IMO. That’s who I would play and I thought both were incredible today. If Liam Byrne gets in its bang out of order. I rate Byrne but he was way off again today and contributed massively to the slow start. Hill on the other hand raised the tempo and should play for me.

To be fair, Harry smith got let off for worse so he could play in the WCC. AK will be fine. The MRP will just ban a saints player instead like they always do

But you still have to play Wire again after the Challenge Cup, where they’ll not be resting any up.

| Quote ="LewCharnock"Strange game to watch. A difficult watch as we got sucked into a real helter-skelter game but my gosh the referee helped. An 11-4 penalty count at the end, our players were visibly frustrated with him. Both Ellis and Leeming gave him a piece of their mind, not like us at all.
On the major talking points, keighran will get a ban unfortunately, Dupree will be fine. On injuries, Marshall and Nsemba looked alright at the end.
One of the few positives we can take from today is that it's reduced the chances of Wire ambushing us at the start of the game next week, our mentality in the first 20 was poor. Hampshire was dire and at fault for 2 tries with positioning. It's all about the first 20 for me next week, we nail the start I think we win the game. Our bench is light years ahead of theirs when we're on.
Edit- I thought Matt Peet was brilliant post match, so honest. The less said about Burgess' arrogant manner, the better. It's the first time I've not liked Burgess with how he came across.'"
“light years ahead”?
Good grief.

| I mustn’t of been watching on the Dupree hit but surely there nothing in that from Dupree. He can’t be that stupid can he? Not for one second saying he’s not done it but it’s stupidity if he has. Kieghran was silly and should cop a ban the only saving grace I see is the lad was loosing light slightly

| The big positive to come out of that game is it gives us 100% focus on our discipline and start.
I think Bryne played his way out of the team, and having Thomson back we will see a different start to the game.
While i expect AK to get a ban, I'd like to see in real time how much time he had to do anything different. If the player is stood up, his left arm has time to come round and make a normal tackle round the body. It's petty tough for the players when that's judged in slow motion.

| Powell was holding Dupree down in the tackle, Dupree was trying to get up, he gets pulled forward and makes head contact. Nothing in it if you look at the full picture.

| I think Dupree may be ok. There’s an argument to say he was trying to get up quickly.
Warrington will feel confident after yesterday though. There’s a lot more of their players to come back into that team than there is for Wigan.

True Stu, but the counter argument is that a lot more of their players didn't have one eye on Wembley and also didn't have anything to lose. It was interesting that we won that game only playing for 15 mins or so and that Warrington never broke us down and could only score through kicks. If we'd been playing a mid table side, say Salford or Huddersfield, and won like yesterday I doubt anyone would have any comments other than "one eye on Wembley".
The narrative was changed because of the opponents and the young kids playing but it's not the first time a group of kids have put in a good performance. It won't have much bearing on the final.
Having said that it will definitely have a feel good factor for Wire but equally it will focus the minds of Wigan in a similar way to Hull KR a few weeks ago or, indeed, the semi final loss last year.
My main concern is more about the potential bans. We have definitely lost our kicker who is in good form and that's a blow. I hope you're right regarding Dupree but at least we have cover there. A bigger worry though is O'Neil. It was a nothing push and in other times it wouldn't warrant so much as a mention. Unfortunately we're no longer in "other times" and we've seen sanctions for this sort of incident before. Not convinced it's worthy of a ban but you just never know.

Oh without a doubt Wigan will be more focused as a result. I actually had a bet on Wigan to win at 12-0 down as the odds were 4/5 which were very good.
I’m looking forward to the Final. I’ve said before that I think Burgess is building something good there and they’ve got more than a good chance. Wigan will be favourites and rightly so but I don’t think there’ll be many points different at the final hooter.

Definitely not much in it as you say. They've pace to burn too so the advantage we would normally feel on Wembley's wide open spaces is gone to some degree. As good as they've been defensively I think it's fair to say ours is better so if the game was tight I'd back us to win it. In fairness, probably as close to a 50/50 game as you'll see provided it's not decided by a red card or something.
Good bet! I thought we'd come back once we got into a rhythm but I'm not sure I'd have put my money where my mouth is!

I’ve started to do this recently with rival teams of RL and football. If they are losing the odds obviously increase and the way I see it it’s like a win/win!
I don’t bet large enough that I’d miss it and if they lose I’m still happy but if they win (usually do) then it’s easy money.

We had a new security firm on the gates this year, bit over zealous but we had a load of scrotes the last 2 seasons with smoke bombs, I got a full pat down the first 4 home games, despite being a boring looking mid 40s bloke

| Our discipline is generally ok.
We lost the pen count 11-4 because we were away from home.
The pen count won't be much different between the teams at Wembley.
Usually we win the pen count at home and lose it away from home.

You're right to some extent, Ted, but I thought our discipline was poor yesterday. Home team advantage of double might be expected but that penalty count was almost 3 times that of the home side. We were a little sloppy and, as Peet said, lazy in our application yesterday and I think that was reflected in the discipline. Too many avoidable errors and penalties.

Drinkwater was probably worse Zig. The disciplinary will be interesting. I'm hoping they go lenient across the board or the final could be severely impacted.

If O’Neill is banned then Musgrove will face suspension as well. Absolutely nothing in either of those tackles.
