Two poor teams but HKR did appear to want it more and had more experienced players who could handle the pressure a bit better. Two tries each and the difference in goal kicks.
We haven't the experienced players to take us through pressure games.
When Lockers isn't there we have Hampshire at 1, Williams 6, Smith 7, Bateman 13 and MicMac/Powell 9. Far too many too young and this IMO is one of the reasons we can't handle it away from home.
Once the Dom Crosby "try" was disallowed they appeared to become nervous. They never regained any composure for the rest of the game.
Shaun Wane, Deacs, Rads and IL have some serious talking to do.
This situation has gone on for over half a season, if it continues for the other half we won't make the top four. No trophies, then there will be trouble, big time!

His shakiness under kicks is always going to be obvious given he isn't a fullback. However, one thing he does have is pace, and that's presumably the reason he's there rather than Bowen. He looks dangerous out of the back of the second man plays off Williams, but doesn't have the strength or size to break the line just yet when he finds a half gap. However, in terms of his error count, he's made 10 in 10 games (before tonight), while Burgess has made 20 in 13, Manfredi 10 in 9 games and Gelling 22 in 12, so he isn't exactly the worst culprit. He'll improve as he gets used to playing fullback, he's definitely got the talent.

It certainly isn't. The most disappointing thing is, it looked like we had turned the corner after some good displays in our last few games. But this was right back to the early season ugliness.

Of course we'd have liked it at the DW, but Jeez, it's only down the road, we can't use that as an excuse: HKR hadn't won outside Hull all season!

Then why did most of his kicks 'go dead'. I know Kingston Rovers love their overseas players, but he's not that good. He just happens to be yet another Australian that plays for you lot.

We keep signing overseas players like Blake Green & Travis Burns then Wigan & Saints pay us big transfer fees for them and then we end up with Campese & Kelly who are better than any of them.

That performance wasn't even a surprise. It's standard away from home. I wouldn't have thought a different piece of grass could make any difference but it's pretty obvious now that something is definitely wrong when we play away from home. We may have won away from home against Wakefield but that was a dire performance and had they not already given up on reaching the top 8 they could have troubled us.

Every away game there are stupid errors and poor decision making that makes it near impossible to get the win. We know we have players who are talented - they show that when we're at home. For what ever reason, performances like that just keep happening away from home and it's getting to the point when it's a serious issue and definitely not merely a coincidence.

The only Wigan player who had a good game was McIlorum. Unfortunately when he was off the field things were made worse by the fact that Powell was poor. I'm assuming Logan is injured because he's performed better than Powell this season. O'Loughlin also had one of his worst games with ball in hand. The passes that went astray were ridiculous.

I'm actually sorry you guys lost as I love Saints v Wigan In big finals as the banter between the 2 sets of fans in the pubs before the game is second to none. What I'm not sorry about is seeing your head coach, in the changing room with his head in his hands. That was priceless and couldn't have happened to a nicer man.

Hull KR, didn't win that game, Wigan lost it and you are so much better than that performance. It was a bad day at the office that's all and I'm sure you will be in the grand final come October

Him and Smith acted like bell ends in the last game maybe Wane knew some of his young players were getting ahead of themselves and seniors like Smith he couldn't rely on so he made his comments to get them to focus.

There was no pressure on Rovers last night was there, but for Wigan coming in to the game after that 60 nil performance and SW saying you'd give another performance like that meant you had a great deal of pressure and expectations on the players.
It's hard to believe such a confident team from 2 weeks ago could look so clueless, for me you have to many niggly players in the team, and. When things don't seem to be going there way they lose the plot with cheap penalty.
The good thing for Wigan though is that your a really young team and will always be competitive for the foreseeable future.
