Not got the pace or the passing game to be a full back in our system.

| I love how people simply dismiss stats when it suits them.
I simply do not think that Briscoe is the next big thing like many on here are making him out to be. I've seen him play both live and on the TV and I’ve yet to be wowed by him but yet reading some of the comments on here he's the next big hope of English RL?
The stats back me up on this one. He’s got comparable numbers to other wingers like Blanch and Broughton who were playing in far worse teams. Lets not forget that although Hull FC weren’t great last season they still had enough to finish 6th in the league. When you compare him to other play off wingers like Hodgson and Hall he’s found serious wanting on all aspects.
Dismiss the stats all you want but sadly he’s neither standing out on my tv or on the screen.
I honestly can’t believe people are saying we should pay a transfer fee for him? That would be the biggest waste of money since Ritchie Myler.

Its not about dismissing stats its about using them as part of the equation. Not as a marker or be all and end all. Some of the best players in the world have high mistake/unforced error counts.
Some of Benji Marshalls stats this year must be shocking the number of unforced errors he makes, but he is still the best player in the world.....go figure.

You can't dismiss stats, but you also can't use them as the fulcrum of your argument. Stats are very subjective and are never clear cut. For example, the stats for the number of tackles made wont demonstrate the importance of certain tackles.Like making an 80 metre chase back to tackle a player on a break or like that world-class tackle made on Peter Fox in the Hull derby. You also have to acknowledge that Ryan Hall is playing outside of Keith Senior in a very good Rhinos side and David Hodgson was having Brett Hodgson laying tries on a plate for him in a very good Huddersfield side too. They're going to get far more opportunities whereas Tom Briscoe was playing in a very, very mediocre Hull FC side coached by an utterly atrocious coach in Richard Agar and it's not like he's blown out the water in terms of stats by either player.
The lad is a top talent.

He had a terrible 2010 and looked bad this year as well. I hope saints don't touch him but could turn out to be great buy.

Ok I'll put it this way. He's been a top class prop and at one time seen as the best prop in the world but on current form over last year and start of this he's been terrible and IMO looks finished.
Saying that, the move to super league may help him but as I said I'd not like saints to sign him as he looks like a player that's on his last legs and finished.

He is getting rave reviews on the NRL coverage, watched the last couple of games and he has been one of the top performers. Watched the game against the Sharks and he was looking good again until a wrist injury. Talk of him playing for the Kiwis again, so he is not as bad as you seem think.

| Do we really need another prop?
Prescott
Mossop
Lima
Hock
Fielden
Crosby
All signed up for next year, possibly Davies + O'Carroll to earn new contracts.

Depends on the managements vision for the team. If they intend to keep Tomkins at centre then we need either a prop or SR. I'd rather have a prop and keep Hock or Mossop at SR for the time being.

| Never quite got the fuss with Asotasi whilst on top form tbh. I saw him play a few times for the kiwis and he seemed pretty easy to handle really and I always thought he must be doing things in the NRL I just don't get to see. As it is I here he's lost form swell so I'd leave well alone and try to get Coley to stay on another year.

Good point really regarding the 2nd row. If JT stays at centre we only have Hansen, Farrell and Tuson as SRs next year. Would be fantastic if we could persuade The Hoff to stay on for one more year. If not I would seriously consider trying to lure Tony Puletua from Saints.

Well have Hock back aswell and Mossop can also push into the backrow if needs be aswell as JT when were short(that's if he stays at centre).
We need to keep the squad changes to a minimum for next season and keep a settled squad were possible. A centre and a halfback/hooker are all we'll hopefully need.

Hope so. Hate to see overseas players moving clubs over here just to chase the cash. The reason it annoys me more so then when English players do it is that somebody like Puletua will be on a good wage at Saints anyway and I think they should show a little respect to a side that went to the trouble of bringing him here in the first place and have no doubt looked after him like royalty.
He seems a decent sort anyway and I would be surprised to see him at Wire.

Without knowing the details, could it not be a simple case of Warrington offering a two year deal, over one from Saints?
