Josh Charnley looked to have a good boot on him earlier in the season. He could really become abit special with that skill added to his armoury.

In the U16's
Lewis Tierney (England goalkicker)
Ryan Hampshire (England Goalkicker)
George Williams (England goalkicker)

and then there's Callum Wright and Grant Beechem.

I don't think we're too bad off for young goalkickers.

Very promising talent from what I've heard.

I have no doubts its Fosters kicking thats made him a cert in the saints team..hes saved them a few times this year..and they cant afford to lose his kicking.

haha. don't understand all this talk because of his hairstyle ( ronaldo is the second best player in football) it called being young and modern and thats what people his age are at. his goalkicking is fantastic for such a young lad and think he should only get better.

born in st helens and started his rugby at blackbrook I believe, so doubt it!!

Young and modern?



As has been previously mentioned take away his superb goalkicking ability and he is more like Darrell Goulding. In any top side you need a finisher like him to score tries, but I wouldnt have him at Wigan over the current players and youth we have.

He is from St Helens and has a broad St Helens accent.

And his hairstyles are fun. He's a really nice bloke. Very down to earth.

I'm happy that you all don't think much of him. I think he's great. Not only is he one of the league's best kickers at aged 20 but he also has excellent positioning, is secure under the bomb, has great pace, reads the game well, has excellent ball control and isn't shy of making a tackle.

A young Richie Mathers who can kick then...

I'm a big fan of Josh Charnley and think he'll claim the wing spot for next year. That being said I've always thought Foster was an exciting prospect and if I'm honest I thought he was a few steps ahead of Charnley. But looking at those stats I'd have to say I was wrong.

Sky seem to hype Foster up a lot, combine that with his flashy showman way of playing and it's easy to see why he's receiving all the attention lately, and perhaps why Charnley has been overlooked by the rugby community in general. I'm pleased to say it looks like we have the better player in Charnley though.

On a side note, I've seen Foster at quite a few Wigan games this season...

I was told he was from Golbourne and went to Edmund Arrowsmith.

he did go Eddies , but the school does attract kids from parts of St Helens as well

Ther'es a kid called Paul Deacon who can kick goals

Foster is from Golbourne and was a big wigan fan..Frano being his hero.

Must have started watching Wigan very young - Frano left Wigan in 94 when Foster was 3 or 4...! Or did he watch him playing for Cas later in the 90's?

He would do a decent job in the England squad I think but not for Wigan.

Wouldn't mind Jonny Lomax playing for us, he is the better talent of the two, could never see it happening though.
