There must be a Wigan version of the annoying gits that come and stand in the Wigan end at away games just to basically have an argument.

Makes you laugh this, when Saints were far superior to us, they always sold out and took a couple of hundred in the East stand as well. Now their struggling to sell 3k.

I think from some of the idiots we've seen at away games this year, there'd be a few people who'd be delighted to do just that.

I would like to say a Big Well done to all the Wigan Fans who have bought their tickets so far and well done on another fantastic effort from our guys!

As far as I see it apart from 1 sell out in 2005 which was an extraordinary Spike our crowds against Saints in the last 10 years have been in the main growing consistantly.

2000 = 18k
2001 = 21k/15k &19k
2002 = 16k/14k & 18k
2003 = 16k
2004 = 17k
2005 = 25k
2006 = 19k
2007 = 22k
2008 = 21k
2009 = 22k

Seeing as Saints have brought 6k regularly from around 2005 through to last year and that we can only sell the other 3 ends which equate to around 19k then we can only do what we can do and leave the Saints to sell theirs.

As I see it we've sold near 17k and if Saints had of brought the same we would have beaten all other years already! As it is we've sold as many if not more than we usually do with 3-4 days left to go to the game!

Quick update from the club is that Tickets will be available up to and inc kick off however there aren't any guarantees there will be any left and they are expecting/hoping to sell the remainder by Saturday (Ticket office will be open Saturday I am told!).

what year was it when Raper had a team of kids and beat saints? Kevin Browns debut I think.....that was the best atmosphere i've ever heard in the JJB/DW.

Apologies as we played at home Twice that season,24k & then 22k late on in the season.
In fact in 2003 (I think) we had 3 homes games that NONE topped 18k!

To be honest my point was that over the first 5 years of SL over around 9 games we averaged around 17k for each Derby Match and in fact some were as low as 14/15k!

Since 2005 (Which coincedentally is when our downturn in fortunes started to happen!) we have played around 7 games so far with I think only 1 game under 20k approx and an average of around 21,500k!

Seeing as this game looks like we will have around that figure again and with the Stains guys only bringing around 1/2 what they normally do I think it's a bloody Great effort by all concerned?
If Saints do Sell out the stand with a late surge the I would say not far off 24k?
