| Glad to see Mossop back although in an ideal world his development might have been better served at Huddersfield for the rest of the season. We have no choice now really so i'm glad we'll be seeing him in a Wigan shirt pretty soon.
As for Goulding it's a case maybe of being ablt to afford to have him in the squad now so why not. If one of Phelps or Gleeson has to move to 6 that frees up a backs spot and i'm not 100% sure they'll want to throw Pryce in on a weekly basis.

He looked 'OK'when playing at the side of Barrett, but when asked to do the playmaking role was sadly not up to it, decent passer of the ball, but wouldn't take the defensive line on, lack of pace was also a big drawback, he seemed heading for big things at Parra, but his illness seemed to have hampered his progress, hope he finds a club in Aus and regains some of his early promise.

| If theres any room to play with a loanee halfback/hooker wouldn't go amiss.
I'm all for giving the youngsters a chance but i don't think we can afford to run with too many. I'd rather not start moving Phelps or Gleeson to stand off at the moment but it looks like we'll have to.

Carmont came off tho and Mathers would have also if he had a coach like Smith.
Not every signing can be a superstar and maybe you have to start looking at the coach when players with undoubted talent keep failing at the club.
Look at the progress Goulding has made in such a short space of time away from the Wigan bubble.

Mathers had many times to prove himself at Wigan and he didn't. Good luck to him at Wire. I won't be blaming Nobby for the howlers Mathers came up with time and time again. He's not exactly become the UK's answer to Billy Slater at Wire.
Carmont was a good player with no issues when he signed.
Goulding's been playing on the wing.

| Sounds like a solid decision to me. Opportunity opening up for Mossop with the Hock thing undecided (but probable) and the injury to Locky may prove to be longer term than 1st thought. With regards Goulding there's obviously worries over Gleeson & Carmont's short/medium term fitness and Pryce's ability to sustain Fridays performance. I'd be pleased if he did but just can't see it happening. Chuck in Smith's injury and it's really a no brainer.

I'm not sure the Hock thing has been decided yet, so TBH I don't see how it can be.

| All the best to Lee Mossop. Did a good job for the Giants.
Smart move by Wigan loaning him to the Giants. He is up to speed for SL and will hit the ground running.

| Gutted to see Goulding go hes been going great guns for us. We're really weak in the outside backs anyway and this won't help matters.
Thanks for your efforts Mr Goulding!!

| Mossop straight into the back row with Bailey, Joel at 13.
Goulding back suggests Gleeson/Phelps will operate in and around 6 with Tommy helping Riddell at 9.
Be interesting to see just how we line up on Friday.
Regards Smith, definetly seems like the club have got rid. No loss.

I would not do either. We have lost a no. 9 so lets try and source one out of the reserves i.e. Flannagan or Gee.
Losing Lockers means JT to 13 with Mossop alongside Bailey. No brainer.
Minimum disruption and none of the musical chairs with people in unfamiliar positions.
If Nobby wants to stick with forwards on the bench we need another from the reserves with Hansen out - Farrell?
Crisis? What crisis?

I like that post, it makes this look like a good oppertunity rather than a crisis, so why sit there and complain, let turn this into something better, play our young players.

Agree I'm looking forward to seeing some of the younger guys get a go, and seeing what there capable of, hopefully Nobby will decide to employ an open attacking philosophy for this game.

Lets hope they do then, I hope to see in the next few weeks-
Goulding
Tomkins J
Mossop S
Flanagan
Farrell
Davies
all playing to try and fully get a place in our line up.
If they all play then 15 players from our academy will of played over the last 2 seasons which is just a great achievment.

| Re Goulding.
If he was to play on Friday and turn in a performance similar to how Pryce played last Friday, it will be very interesting to see what people make of it.
I think its certain he wont be called lazy, useless etc etc.

If he does play the reaction will be interesting.
I am sure everyone will not be slagging the likes of Mossop off if he makes a mistake. Will Goulding get the same leeway? I have my doubts.
Certain players have for one reason or another polarised opinion. Ainscough is another who would have people queuing up to say "I told you so" were he to play and make the same mistakes as Pat did on Friday despite the fact Ainscough is also inexperienced.
My view is with the Hock situation and now the injuries we need to react as a crowd as we did in 2006 and cheer the young players on. It is muck or nettles now (crikey, Imust be turning into Nobby coming out with that..).
