| The James Rule bit, was quoted by RL's biggest gossip columnist on BBC Radio Merseyside.
That was where I got it from.

Anyone notice the story appearing from various sources about Hull FC spitting the dummy and banning BBC Radio Humberside and the local "Look North" news programme from accessing the players, coach and staff at the club because they apparently dared to criticise them. They claim they used "unprofessional and unacceptable reporting".
Pretty poor effort I think. Rugby League needs all the media support it can get and we should be thankful for the service our club gets over here from BBC Radio Manchester who generally offer full match commentary on all our games as well as it's 2 hour show on Thursday Nights.
Of course there is a commercial alternative in Hull (KCFM) and BBC Radio Humberside will still contractually be able to offer commentaries but I'd be pretty disappointed if our club ever took the same kind of action with local radio here.
Some suggest the real reason is the club never forgave BBC Humberside for breaking the news of Paul Cooke's move to Rovers in 2007.
What a panto lol.'"
Although I can see your point in wanting more media coverage for our game, you have to be from the west side of our city to know the ins & outs of this issue. The local paper (Hull Daily Mail) are sponsors of HKR and never criticise anything about them, just spending most of it's time trying to put us (F.C.) down. Radio Humberside's sportstalk is chaired by Gwillem Lloyd (an out and out red) who lives near Cookes dad, he broke the story about Cooke, but would'nt reveal his sources! The way they went about that particular incident was unprofessional in the least, that produced the 1st ban (by "ban" it does'nt stop them coming in to commentate, only interviews with the players and staff). This 2nd ban, in my opinion is fully justified, they really took the p1ss, was biased and totally unprofessional in the remarks made against our club. When you bring into the picture that they are also "banned" from Hull City and Grimsby, you have to wonder why the only club in the area that have never had a problem with them is HKR! If you are good enough to work for the BBC you should at least TRY to be unbiased. And as for HKR being the biggest club in the town, they would have to at least double their attendance's for that to be true. ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)
