He said Myler is the more creative and was cutting wigan up.
All tomkins did for his tries was pick up loose balls and use his pace.

Don't rate Simms - haven't read the article - but would suggest he reassesses once Tomkins has played as many 1st team games as Myler.

He does seem to have matured very well in union, good pass and kicking game and his one on one defence has improved also.'"
not overly keen to be honest - he was nowhere near good enough last time he played for us, a good passing & kicking game wont be enough to play SL level.
Also, he is on the verge of the England RU squad - so I would expect him to be tied down to a decent contract in RU.

Pretty sure Tomkins made a fantastic break with a nice run against the play dummy pass and steady hand off. Not loose balls.

He isn't going to write an article saying Tomkins is better than Myler.

| I think Myler is the better player at the moment but that maybe down to the amount of games he's played, Tomkins was found out a little when facing a decent side in Leeds, although I expect Tomkins to be a feature of the Wigan and England set-up for many years.

But neither of our backs played particularly well because we didn't have much ball. You can't get noticed if you don't have the ball.

When he did have the ball he made errors and didn't do much. He is a class act though.

| Only one loose ball did Tomkins pick up on. His first try was from an offload from Bailey and he beat the fullback and winger to the tryline.
He read the game well on both occasions and demonstrated his speed off the mark.
Richie Myler came out of his line on a number of occasions and left big gaps in Salford's defense - one leading to a try IIRC.
=redEdit: I was correct Wigan's first try. Myler is way out of the defensive line.

He also missed the tackle on O'Louglin that led to Ainscoughs second try.

Don't recall them ever starting a England game at test level together. So that would make that statement pretty unfounded.

I don't count France, the way they are at the moment, you can't call the games against them a test match.
The NZ game is fair enough. Interestingly GB/England won both those games.
