Russell got injured Thursday and even as a huge fan I wouldn't have played him. We played very well against Leeds and those guys deserved another crack.

We've got Widnes and Salford coming up in a few weeks which to me would seem ideal to give a couple more debuts out.

bloody hell. I was really impressed with him in pre season and wanted him to get a bench spot. Was it a bad injury?

Not sure. I read he was taken off with a leg injury but hopefully just a minor thing.

He'll be brilliant in time. Like I said Widnes in a few weeks seems a perfect opportunity to blood a player like Russell.

General sloppiness in our play at times. Trying to be more expansive will cause that at times but it is still frustrating
Too many penalties. Bradford missing touch twice in the first half got us out of jail. Better teams will punish poor discipline

I dont really see how this is a grumble about our performance. Anyway the team were outstanding against Leeds, and no one deserved to be dropped, so who would you have liked Russell to play instead of?

Praise: wasn't there, unfortunately (that's the grumble), but I'd like to praise the Bradford player who absolutely flattened the ref in the buildup to Charnley's 2nd try, on about their 40 metre line. It's very clear on the replay, so if you haven't seen it yet, I suggest you iplayer the superleague show and have yourself a chuckle!

I would have given Russell a bench spot instead of Tuson, with a view to him potentially eventually getting the full back spot with Sam moving into the halves. This would solve our problems with regard to a lack of pace in the halves and a lack of a ball player on the bench. Don't get me wrong though, I like Tuson, I just don't think that it's a good long term plan to play two props and two second rowers off the bench.

Russell had to leave the field injured in the U20 game on Thursday night.

I know, I had said I would have played him before I knew though. Do you think he would be worth a spot in the first team? You will have seen a lot more of him than me but he really impressed me in pre season.

I don't think he's quite ready yet...great in attack, but still not up to SL level defensively, IMO. I'd like to see him on dual reg/loan for a year first.

Why do people want the best full back in super league and one of the best players in the world moved back to the halves? It would wreck our attack with sam coming in on the 2nd phase off finch. Full Back every day of the week and shouldnt even contemplate moving him to the halves when hes tearing teams apart every week at 1.

at full back sam can see where the opposition defense are short in numbers and hit the line to make the extra man or go through the hole.

Plus from fullback he is devasting in broken field play.

Lets face it, no matter how well Sam plays at 1, people will still be calling for him to play in the halves. As others have pointed out, he is far more devastating from FB. Anyway

Praise - We managed to rack up a lot of points which is something, at times, we struggled with last season.
The whole pack were awesome with Hock, Mossop, farrell & Tuson standing out for me.
The Sun made it a lot nicer day out than last year.

Grumble - A few handling errors in from Hock and Hughes that may have cost us against a better team.
Conceding tries that were very avoidable.
The tannoy annoncer mixing Faz and Tuson up, its not like they're spitting image of each other is it.
